Under the Production System component of WDC‑PMKSY 2.0, beneficiary Chumi Khakhalary received financial assistance of ₹44,000 in Pachia village under the Barjuli Micro Watershed (MWS), Kamrup district.

🌿 Protecting Riverbanks, Strengthening Communities! 🌿

In Sonaram Terang village under the Kakojuri Micro Watershed, Karbi Anglong District, a 250-metre-long boulder revetment has been successfully constructed along the banks of the Kakojan River.

💧 Objective: To control soil erosion and protect the riverbanks.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Impact: More than 90 families have benefited from this initiative, completed successfully against a financial target of ₹17.71 lakh.

🚶‍♀️ Beyond erosion control, the revetment now also serves as a convenient footpath, helping villagers commute within the community.

A strong example of how watershed interventions can protect natural resources while creating lasting benefits for local communities. 🌱🤝

🧵 Empowering Rural Women Through Handloom

Under the Production System component of WDC-PMKSY 2.0, Asha Self-Help Group (SHG) of 2 No. Kachalupathar village under Raidangia MWS, Tingkhong, Dibrugarh, Assam, received financial assistance of ₹44,000 during the financial year 2022–23.

The SHG utilized the support to establish a Handloom unit, creating a sustainable livelihood opportunity and strengthening the economic empowerment of rural women. 🌿

This initiative is a step towards women-led livelihoods, self-reliance, and sustainable rural development in Assam. 💪🧶
