Afutpi muga in a new light from Taruna Heisnam

There is a certain kind of beauty that only reveals itself when you look closely. The beauty of a handloom woven with character, and the quiet artistry of hands that bring it to life, one stitch at a time.

Maiyon’s Afutpi Muga in this beautiful shade of green is a celebration of that very craft. Rich, luminous, and full of depth, the fabric carries the natural elegance of Muga, while delicate hand embroidery adds a layer of charm, texture, and thoughtful detail.

The intricate handwork begins with tiny floral motifs, carefully embroidered across the length of the fabric. Scattered blooms emerge gently against the green, creating a beautiful sense of rhythm and movement. Each little flower is made up of fine stitches, with delicate golden details that catch the light beautifully, almost like little blossoms resting on the surface of the silk.

MIWA is a collection of q***r and trans poetry from Manipur - the first of its kind in the history of trans and q***r literature in the state.
It was born from a series of poetry writing workshops organized by AMANA, this landmark anthology is edited by Mesak Takhelmayum, translated by Shaanba Arambam, curated by Santa Khurai, and published by Xako.

The book will be launched on 29th September at Sangai Hall, Imphal Hotel. The event is open to all aspiring writers and lovers of literature.See you all.
