Renound Sufi buzurg of 18th century, Abul Fatah Serajuddin Md. Abdul Quadir (Rah) founded Madarsa Khanquah in the year 1902. He had a great vision in the development of the society, apart from religious development specially in the field of education. It was his dream that every child of the area should get high quality education, so that he along with the society can get honour in the world whe
re ever they go. The school in the later years became Gift for the society.His son Syed Shah Abul Brakat (Rah) also a renound Sufi buzurg of his time put the journey of the dreams of his father forward and added education of English & Hindi with change of system and added the feather in the name of the Madarsa and named it as Anglo urdu middle school.The dream of Abdul Quadir (Rah) came true when the restless effort of Syed Shah Abul Barkat (Rah) finally earned reward and the school got minority status by the Govt. of bihar in the year 1966 and recognized as minority aided school with the name of gandhi Memorial Khanquah (G M K) High school.Adding name of Gandhi is an example of thought of secularism in the minds of muslim sufi of that an old time from then school is taking care of Ganga jamuni tradition. Abdul Quadir (Rah) became the first Hounarable Secretary of the Madrsa and thereafter his son Syed Abul Brakat(Rah). He was the first Secretary of the school when the school became a high school and developed days and nights under his leadership.He had a great capacity of governance and management due to which the school reached to its height. There were great contribution from the friends and followers of Shah Abul Brakat (Rah).Master mojibur Rahman commonly known as Master Majju, as said to be was also prominent amongst the persons who contributed a lot for the school where as many others were eager to be named but actually tried to put loss to the school.The other prominent secretaries after Ahah Abul Brakat (Rah) were Shibli sb(popularly Known as), Md Mazhar sb,etc. After the demise of Syed Shah Abul Brakat (Rah) the responsibility of the school came on the shoulder of Syed shah Ali Abdali ,the son of Abul Brakat (Rah) and Sajjada Nasheen of the Khanquah Islampur, who during his period maintained the school well despite great difficulties and opposition which had developed in the society and within the family.Then came the dark era for the school for long 15 years from the year 1991 to 2005 ,when the school and khanquah islampur both faced all time decline . Finally the revival came from the ,by the grace of god slow but steady, the school is picking up. Syed Fazle Rahman and Dr. Abdus Samad are presently taking care of the management of the school as Secretary and honorable president. SM Shahlal Rizvi is Vice of Dr. Samad. Syed Anwar Mojib is taking care of the school as Head Master. The school has achieved gradation to + 2 level in the year 2012 in this regime in addition to a lot of other things.
