ECLGS 5.0 is a Government-backed loan support scheme introduced to help MSMEs facing temporary cash flow and liquidity issues.

Under this scheme, banks can provide additional loans to eligible businesses with Government guarantee support. Since a major portion of the loan is guaranteed by the Government, banks may be more comfortable extending additional working capital support.

Key features:

Additional loan support for MSMEs
Government guarantee coverage up to 100% for eligible MSME loans
Loan eligibility linked to existing working capital limits and utilisation
Repayment period up to 7 years
Moratorium of up to 2 years
Option to convert part of the interest into a separate repayable loan (FITL) to reduce immediate repayment pressure

Please note:

This is not an automatic loan approval scheme.
Banks will still assess eligibility, repayment track record, and financial position before sanctioning the loan.
The scheme mainly supports existing borrowers with existing banking facilities.
