There is this burning mad rush that had engulfed us particularly in India, with the govt. Too having a say in the matter. It was not long ago when we all heard that going in for NABH ACCREDITATION is mandatory. The IRDA too had its say, and the resultant was pending empanelments be it with TPA / Insurance or public sector undertakings. Many an agency mushroomed up, some from other states too to have a piece of the pie in exchange for their accreditation preparation support. Fixed course curriculum, and patterns started taking root, with the result that the NABH just encouraging Hospitals to go in for accreditation via a much simplified and lucid platform - Entry Level Accreditation. The entrepreneurs, in some cases Dr turned entrepreneur started the 'Sunflower dance of the day.' If there is a prescribed reference book from THE NABH, then following of it coupled with the hospital's good medical practices eventually would lead to the hospital bagging the accreditation. Entrepreneurs wake up from the ride, if you know what I am pointing at. I make reference of a study published as below, to this effect.
