World Nature Conservation Day | 28 July 2026
Nature doesn't need our admiration alone—it needs our action.

At Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM), Sagroli, we believe that protecting nature is the foundation of sustainable rural development. Through watershed development, lake rejuvenation, river restoration, tree plantation, soil and water conservation, climate-resilient agriculture, and environmental education, we are working hand-in-hand with communities to restore the balance between people and nature.

Every tree planted, every drop of water conserved, and every ecosystem restored is an investment in a healthier, greener future for the next generation.

This World Nature Conservation Day, let us all pledge to:
🌱 Protect forests and biodiversity
💧 Conserve every drop of water
🌾 Promote sustainable farming practices
♻️ Reduce waste and live responsibly
🤝 Join hands to create a greener tomorrow

"When we conserve nature, we secure our future."

💧 First Rain. Immediate Impact. A Living Example of Sustainable Water Conservation! 🌿

The first spell of monsoon has already demonstrated the success of the "Doha Model of Nala Deepening & Widening" under the Samruddhi Project. Following 23rd June's night rainfall, the newly created Doha structures at Khatgaon and Sawarmal Block Mukhed Dist. Nanded are completely filled with water and overflowing—an encouraging sign of effective rainwater harvesting, improved water flow, and enhanced groundwater recharge.

Implemented by Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal (SSM), Sagroli, with the generous support of the Azim Premji Foundation, the Samruddhi Project is transforming natural resource management across six villages in the Mukramabad region. The project prioritizes watershed restoration through rejuvenation of old cement check dams, nala deepening and widening, soil and water conservation, and climate-resilient watershed interventions.

At Sawarmal, years of silt deposition had reduced the carrying capacity of the nala, causing rainwater to overflow into nearby farmlands and damage crops every monsoon. Through the innovative "Doha Model", the nala has been scientifically restored to improve water retention, regulate runoff, and facilitate groundwater recharge while protecting agricultural land from flooding.

For local farmers like Mr. Rajaram Laxman Rathod, whose family cultivates nearly 16 acres along the nala, this intervention brings renewed hope. The restored water channel is expected to reduce crop losses, improve soil moisture, and ensure better agricultural productivity in the coming seasons.

🌱 The overflowing Doha structures after the very first rainfall are more than just a visual success—they are proof that well-planned watershed interventions can deliver immediate environmental benefits while strengthening climate resilience and securing sustinable livelihoods for rural communities*

Together, we are restoring landscapes, conserving every drop of rain, and building a water-secure future.

🌍 Nature Restored. Communities Empowered. Futures Secured. 🌱

Every drop of water conserved, every tree nurtured, and every hectare of land restored tells a story of hope.

Through Sanskriti Samvardhan Mandal's (SSM), Natural Resource Management initiatives are transforming rural landscapes through community-driven action and sustainable environmental practices. From watershed development and river rejuvenation to afforestation, farm ponds, biodiversity conservation, climate-resilient agriculture, and soil & water conservation, each initiative is creating lasting impact for people and nature alike.

📖 Our latest flyer series showcases the key environmental initiatives, measurable outcomes, and inspiring success stories from various SSM projects. These stories reflect how collective efforts are improving livelihoods, strengthening climate resilience, enhancing water security, and restoring ecological balance across rural communities.

🌿 Together, we are not just conserving natural resources—we are building a greener, healthier, and more sustainable future for generations to come.

💚 Explore the journey. Celebrate the impact. Join the movement for a resilient tomorrow.
