Day 3 of Navratri ❤️ | The Colour of Strength, Vitality & Abundance.

Red symbolises strength, passion and vitality, a few fruits capture that spirit quite like the pomegranate. ❤️

Packed with antioxidants, fibre and essential nutrients, pomegranates are a colourful addition to a balanced diet. But their value goes beyond nutrition.

India is one of the world’s leading pomegranate producers, with Maharashtra playing a significant role in cultivation. Grown in warm, semi-arid regions, pomegranates are valued for their adaptability and demand in both domestic and international markets.

From Indian orchards to overseas shelves, Indian pomegranates reach markets across the globe, including the UAE, Bangladesh and other international destinations. At MK Exports, we’re proud to be part of the journey that connects India’s agricultural richness with global markets. 🌍

This Navratri, here’s to vibrant harvests, healthy choices and taking the goodness of Indian produce across borders.

Wishing you a strong, healthy and prosperous Navratri! 🪷

Day 2 of Navratri 🤍 | The Colour of Peace, Purity & New Beginnings.

White represents calm, clarity and simplicity, a reminder that sometimes, the most meaningful things are the ones closest to nature.

And what better way to celebrate this than with the humble white radish? Crisp, refreshing and full of goodness, radishes bring a natural freshness to everyday meals, proving that even the simplest produce has a place on our plates. 🌱

At MK Exports, every harvest tells a story. From Indian farms to international markets, we work to take the freshness of Indian produce across borders, connecting growers with markets around the world.

This Navratri, here’s to keeping things pure, embracing simplicity and celebrating the goodness that grows from the ground up.

WHY DOES THE UK DEPEND ON IMPORTED VEGETABLES?

The UK produced around 2.6M tonnes of vegetables in 2025.
But its total fresh vegetable supply was about 4.7M tonnes, meaning imports supplied a significant share of the market.

Why?
🌱 Seasonal production gaps
🌦️ Unpredictable weather conditions
🥦 Year-round consumer demand
🌍 Different growing seasons across countries
🚢 The need for reliable, continuous supply

In 2025, the UK imported more than 2.1M tonnes of vegetables, with the Netherlands, Spain, Morocco, Poland and Egypt among the leading suppliers by import value.

For global vegetable exporters, this creates an opportunity:
Supply the right produce, at the right time, with the quality and consistency UK buyers need.
Because global fresh produce is not just about where vegetables are grown.

It is about connecting the right growing region to the right market at the right time.

Potatoes may be an everyday staple in Ireland, but getting the right quality on shelves consistently takes more than just growing them.

It depends on proper grading, reliable packaging, storage, traceability and well-planned logistics throughout the supply chain.

For exporters, the real opportunity lies in delivering produce that meets market expectations, consistently, season after season.
