Canada has cut down the number of tourist visas issued to Indians, particularly for applicants from Punjab, with success rate falling from 80% to less than 20%. Canada has amended its visa policy, ending the 10-year multiple-entry visas and allowing shorter visas based on individual assessment rather than defaulting to extended durations.

The Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) said the shift in the policy was part of a broader strategy aimed at managing temporary immigration levels, addressing housing shortages and controlling the rising cost of living.

US visa appointment: This Indian city steals the show with least number of waiting days - In India, the waiting period for appointments to apply for US visas has surpassed two years. The appointment wait time for Delhi is 833 days while the wait period for Mumbai is 848 days. While there is frustration and disappointment about the massive delay, Chennai seems to be enjoying a fair advantage. The waiting period for Student/Exchange Visitor Visas in the city now stands at just 29 days.

The Australian government has re-opened Australia’s borders to fully vaccinated international students and Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders.

This is wonderful news that our students, StudyAdelaide, international education providers and the Adelaide community have been waiting to hear.

As of 15 December 2021, international travellers arriving into South Australia, or transiting through another Australian city directly to South Australia must undertake 7 days quarantine.
