Wishes, videos, memes and many more on 8th March, a ritual which everyone follows and it is done very meticulously every year. Our inbox is filled with women empowerment taglines ads, heart touching videos, etc.
There is economic empowerment of women both in rural and urban part of the country to a certain extent though we have a very long way to go. But is this really women empowerment and is this what every woman wants?
Its more than 7 years and still no justice for Nirbhaya and there are so many r**e cases which are pending and many more not reported. We are unable to make our girls and women safe but celebrate Women’s Day. Hypocrisy at its height. No offence to anyone but we as women need to come together and fight to keep our girls safe.

Had an interesting session with women of Champa village, Umred, Nagpur organised by Taniska Foundation and Sakal on 21 September 2019. My first interaction with women from villages. The village panchayat is a young person who is doing his best for the development of the village.

Harassement and discrimination is a major issue and though they agree to stand up and raise their voice....there is a very long way to go...

There is a difference between sexual assault and sexual harassment. People are aware that sexual assault at workplace is unwelcome and illegal. Though these also come under sexual harassment if such assault takes place at workplace, sexual harassment covers much more which many are unaware of. Remember, wherever there is any behaviour that creates an unduly hostile work environment for a women which maybe verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature which interferes with her work or creates an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment don't be reduced by it. Stand up and be the force behind the fight.

An awarness session with the girls of ICICI Skill Academy on Prevention of Sexual Harassment at workplace. It was an interesting session and interactive workshop. Sensitisation is a must for women to know the seriousness of the issue, differentiate it and handling it the right way.

intent vs impact is one of the most crucial standards in assessing sexual harassment .....it does not matter what was the intent behind the behaviour....what matters is the impact of the behaviour on the harassed.....
