Fish and fishing are part of Iceland's DNA.
For generations, fishermen have faced the challenges of the North Atlantic, often putting their lives at risk to provide food for families and communities and to help build the society we know today.

That is why it is a special honour for Sea Growth to be featured in the Fishermen's Day edition of MBL's 200 Mílur newsletter.

At Sea Growth, we are proud to be working on the next chapter of Iceland's seafood story. We do not see cultivated seafood as a replacement for traditional fisheries, but as an additional tool to help meet the growing global demand for seafood while protecting our oceans for future generations.

The future of seafood will require both respect for tradition and the courage to innovate.

New collaboration for Sea Growth

We’re excited to share that Sea Growth has started a new collaboration with ORF Líftækni hf. an important step in our ongoing R&D work in cultivated seafood.

We’ve received the first batch of growth factors developed and produced by ORF Genetics, which we’ll be testing in our salmon cell culture media as part of our efforts to optimise key inputs for scalable and cost-efficient production.

We’re grateful for the trust from ORF Genetics and excited to explore the potential of these growth factors together.
