Good afternoon everyone,

We will be holding a series of informal readings over these holidays.

This Friday December 12 at 6 pm and Saturday December 15 at 3 pm some of us at The English Theatre of Rome will meet up to read aloud Raymond Carver stories and 2 unpublished one acts by him and his companion / the poet Tess Gallagher.

These meetings are casual, no cost with the intention of listening (or reading) to hear which stories can transform themselves onto the stage verbatim best. This will be eventually a show slated for March, yet these readings are senza impegno.

We are coming together now to read and listen to the material verbatim to brain storm. Once we decide which story or one act, we will have auditions in January.

We usually meet at John Cabot university and or a private home in trastevere. If available and interested in lending an ear or reading aloud, lemme know and I'll get back to you with more details. If not free this weekend and still are interested in other readings, please email me so I can keep you abreast of other encounters.

Singer Marlo Di Crasto and I will be performing a mix of timeless Christmas standards, drawing on the elegance of Peggy Lee, Billie Holiday, and mid-century jazz. We’ll be joined by Oliver von Essen on piano, whose lush arrangements bring the whole evening to life.

It’s intimate, warm, and perfect for anyone looking to kick off the holiday season with something unique, musical, and beautifully nostalgic. L’Arciliuto is one of Rome’s most atmospheric venues- think candlelight, vaulted ceilings, and a cozy vintage mood.

World of Games Evening - 30th October

We are delighted to invite you to a new initiative for our international community.

On 30th October we are introducing our very first "World of Games" evening, where all nationalities (including Italians) are invited to play board games of many types and from different countries.

You don't have to be a seasoned player, someone on the night will help to explain how to play, after all, we'll all be playing some of the games for the first time.

There will be games for one player, two players, and four or more, so if you don't feel like joining in a big group, no problem, there's something for everyone.

Our objective is to keep our brains active, have fun, spend time together and create another opportunity to meet new and familiar faces.

🕢 Time: 8.00–10:00 pm (We will not be providing food but there will be a short break for tea & coffee during the evening. Please feel free to bring along any other drinks or snacks you like)

Sunday 5 October 2025 4-7:30 pm great presentation of MEDIEVAL MUSIC with Maestro SIMONE SORINI, singer and singing teacher of Medieval and Renaissance music.

The meeting is FREE.
Everyone can participate.

Subsequently, in the period October / December 2025, for those interested, a real course of 5 meetings will start both on medieval vocality and on knowledge of important authors of the period (see attachment).
The October 5th meeting will feature ample space for the most significant pieces of music, along with all the useful information for those who wish to experiment, explore, and experience this music.
