⚡️🌍 These times of call for new solutions, and therefore, for the community to come together to achieve a of minds: that’s where become key players, ensuring that all can freely express themselves and be fully understood in their own native language.

🗣️ 👂 Indeed, even if you’re highly skilled in your listeners’ language, not being allowed (or not allowing yourself) to use your native tongue may strongly - even inadvertently - limit the range of meanings, emotions and culturally-specific concepts and mannerisms you may wish to convey: this is not to be underestimated.

📚 💡 In my latest assignments, when sharing personal experiences, opinions and trying to learn from each other across continents, nothing has been more important than accurately bridging that cultural gap: that is how people feel truly heard, agreements can be made and innovative ideas become shared knowledge.

🎧 Therefore, if you are wondering whether you should hire a good team of interpreters for your international event, the right answer is always: yes, that is the best investment you could make for its success. ✨

⭕️ Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.

📑 Last week I concluded my collaboration with PTV Group SISTeMA as a .

🌍💻 During the last two years, I’ve learned to apply my language skills in a completely new way: to drafting and editing for products to be consulted by company clients and end users.

👥📲 This meant understanding how the product works by collaborating with engineers and developers, how new features are to be integrated as (or before) relevant updates get released, drafting and publishing release notes, ensuring that code descriptions are clear, improving existing help centre and FAQ pages, managing product terminology, providing QA for translations, and so much more.

🎯📚 I’m deeply grateful for everything that I have learned, achieved, and contributed to. It was a unique opportunity and I hope and look forward to using (and further developing) what I’ve learned in my future projects.

🖇️ I’m also deeply thankful for the wonderful people and professionals I’ve met and worked with - you know who you are.

🙏🏼 In particular, my special thanks go to Meschini for trusting me with this role, and of course, Attanasi and Stazi for believing in me and my skills in the first place.

✨ Best of luck to all of you for what comes next, and, who knows… Maybe we’ll cross paths again.

⏰🎧 Interpreters always try their best at preparing ahead of an event… But this isn’t always possible.

This high-level meeting, with three taking the floor (the Minister of Foreign Affairs, the Minister of , and the Minister of the ), was one of those cases: yet, everything worked out perfectly well… Even if all we had on our hands until that very morning was a generic topic name. 😳

🔦 What did we do right? And what is paramount in these exceptional circumstances?

✨ Here are 5 suggestions:

1- Do any research you can with the little information you have: are there any potentially relevant in your old folders? Any interesting online videos or short presentations that are filled with relevant that you may take note of? 🔎🗂️

2- Try to meet the as soon as you are at the event venue, and ask them to please 🙏🏼 provide you with anything that they might have received last minute: an agenda, a list of speakers/panelists, any notes or slides - anything goes. 🗣️📄

3- Be a great player: whether you already know your boothmate or not (and we happily did: this also helps!), remember that you are playing on the same team. Helping each other out before and during the event is the key to success. 🤝🖇️

4- Prior and : in our case, we both have several years of accrued interpreting in the field of and - and this is, in itself, the best safety net in the face of any risky situations. 💪🏽📚

5 - Grab a nice cup of coffee or tea and some cookies before the event starts: you will need all the you can muster. And, with this, Lucia Melotti and I still feel deeply grateful for having been specially served some coffee and muffins directly in the booth before everybody else. ☕️🍪

P.S. In case you didn’t think that interpreting could be this … You have been warned- and you’re welcome! 🤯

🇪🇸🇬🇧 Take your with you! ¡Llévate a tus contigo!

🎧 🎯 Not all are the same: working with the same team for several years, they will have learned everything about your story, your work, your values, your objectives - not just your terminology.

✨ They know what you mean, and mean what you say.

✈️🇹🇭 That is why we were particularly excited, grateful and proud when one of our clients decided to take us with them on a trip to this month.

💯 It was a wonderful experience that ensured the of the event and which we’ll always remember as an outstanding professional highlight.

✨🎧 I’m therefore grateful for having been part of these reflections that will hopefully help these figures grow in recognition and influence.

✅ ✨And what better words to testify the determination and positive attitude at ensuring that the Games do happen in Taranto as planned and be a success, no matter any issues or delays?

🇮🇹 Every now and then, this wonderful job takes you to places you would have never thought you’d visit on a business trip - and sometimes, it means discovering new gems in beautiful .

☀️🏺 In this case, I had the chance to discover a part of I’d never seen before: the surroundings of Taranto and, specifically, Grottaglie.

💪🏽 📈 The photos speak for themselves: I hope that so much beauty, culture and great food will deservedly be more and more accompanied by just as much economic growth - and, of course, opportunities.

💡🏆 A simple but effective slogan: having an by your side at a means easily over new clients (or providers).

🇪🇸 🗻 And that is exactly how it went for the Spanish natural stone companies I interpreted for at the fair in .

🌍 🤝 Having me liaising between them and their prospective clients into , , and allowed both parties to flawlessly explain their respective business technicalities in their own native language, and to immediately strike a first deal - sometimes, after realising that their respective needs or requirements were not incompatible as they initially thought.

🤔 Are you planning to take part in a similar event? Do consider hiring interpreters: we will multiply your expected outcome. 📈

📧 Send an email to [email protected] and we’ll gladly help you.

👕 P.S. Personally, I’d never worn a custom “uniform” before, but it was admittedly very useful: it made us interpreters easily identifiable, it was a pleasant surprise for international visitors… And a significant souvenir for us interpreters to take home 🎁
