Yesterday our concept of using a ludi board for engagement came to life. This is a big deal for us as it demonstrates that we craft solutions based on the needs of those we serve and the cultural context. Children were engaged through a practical and fun way on how they relate to their parents.

Engagement does not have to only use traditional methods. Using a ludi board as a means of interacting with and collecting data was developed by our CEO - Dr. Barrett in 2024 on a violence prevention and response project.

The aim is to play the game with the community and if a player lands on a particular area (which is known by the facilitator), then a question is asked and the group is engaged. It doesn’t have to be a focus group, survey and regular Q&A - get creative!

This concept is now being used by D&G Foundation to engage community persons.

In 2024 our CEO designed and facilitated a proposal writing training for civil society organizations. The client conducted an evaluation on the following areas:
✔️ Quality and Performance
✔️ Administration
✔️ Ex*****on
✔️ Staffing and Cost Control

The overall rating received was 4.8/5. Dr. Barrett asked about where we lost the 0.2😀. While no clear explanation was provided she was determined to get a perfect score in 2025.

And there you have it - the ratings were provided this week and the score was 5/5.

21 years go, on this day - April 12th, RADAR was formed from the need to provide customized services in research, capacity building and training. Services were often too generic and did not meet the specific needs of clients. RADAR has evolved but our core mission remains the same.

We are grateful for the many clients and partners who have trusted us over the years. To all team members - thank you!

Activities are always well planned but a great trainer knows that at times you have to improvise and pivot. With limited wall space in this room, our lead trainer Dr. Barrett decided to create an on the spot “hop scotch” to complete the activity. She needed less than five minutes to bring the concept to life.

This is what we mean by being able to adapt to the situation and make a training session meaningful.

Every voice in the community development process matters. Children have some of the most practical solutions to issues faced by a community and we should give them space to articulate this. Keep them involved!
