✨🎎 Hina Matsuri Food Project 🎎✨

I was happy to see that a photo from my Hina Matsuri deco sushi project was briefly featured on the MAFF (Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan) YouTube channel – “BUZZ MAFF.”

It is always an honor to see Japanese seasonal food culture shared in this way.

✨🎎 Hina Matsuri Deco Sushi 🎎✨

Recently, we made Hina Matsuri deco sushi together 🌸
It is always exciting to see the Hina dolls appear when the sushi is cut.

We also made Koinobori (carp streamers) rolls and enjoyed Japanese seasonal traditions through food 🎏

During the lesson, we had the pleasure of welcoming koto artist Yumi Asaoka ().
She won the Silver Prize in one of the most prestigious and technically demanding koto competitions in Japan, becoming the No.2 koto performer in the country.
Her live performance created a calm and truly authentic Japanese atmosphere.

She told me she would love to join a deco sushi lesson next time, and I am already looking forward to rolling sushi together again.

先日、お雛様のデコ巻き寿司を巻きました🎎🌸
切った瞬間にお雛様が現れる楽しさは、何度見ても嬉しいものです。

今回は鯉のぼりも一緒に作り、日本の季節を感じるレッスンになりました🎏

さらに今回は、箏奏者朝岡祐美さんをお迎えし、生演奏を聴かせていただきました🎶
箏の世界で最も難しいコンクールのひとつで銀賞を受賞され、日本全国第2位となった演奏家で、美しい音色に包まれた贅沢な時間でした。

次回はデコ巻き寿司レッスンにも参加したい！とおっしゃってくださったので、ご一緒できる日が楽しみです♪

✨Feb 6 is “Matcha Day” 🍵

Matcha is now loved and enjoyed all around the world.

I also work in Sakai City—known as the birthplace of traditional chanoyu (the Japanese tea ceremony)—and I’d love to share the beauty of matcha with more people.

🧐Why Feb 6?
In Japanese wordplay, 2 = “fu” and 6 = “ro,”
which sounds like “furo” (風炉)
—the tea-ceremony brazier used to heat water.

There are so many tasty ways to enjoy matcha today,
like matcha chocolate and sweets🍫

If you’re visiting Osaka,
I can also arrange a matcha experience
with Japanese sweets (wagashi).

2/6は「抹茶の日」🍵
茶の湯でお湯を沸かす道具「風炉（ふろ）」にちなんで、
“ふ(2)・ろ(6)”の語呂合わせから生まれた記念日です。

抹茶は香りとほろ苦さが魅力で、
気持ちをすっと整えてくれるような存在。
抹茶チョコなどスイーツも増えて、
楽しみ方が広がっていますね😋

I’m Satomi, connecting Japan and the world through washoku culture.

I’m honored to share that my work in preserving and sharing Japanese washoku culture has been officially featured on the website of Japan’s Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

My activities, including hands-on Japanese food experiences and initiatives related to food sustainability, were highly appreciated by the project office.

最近、親友とのメールの終わりに
「今日も〇〇が幸せでありますように」
と書くようになりました。

そうすると、
「聡美も今日幸せでありますように！」
と返事が来るようになりました。

こんなやりとりがとても温かく
最近知り合った方にもそう書くようにしたら
やっぱり同じ返事が返ってきて。

幸せの循環っていいなぁ🥰
と思いました。

このたび、農林水産省が推進する
「楽しもう！にほんの味。～和のこころをつなぐ食の国民運動～
（楽し味〈たのしみ〉プロジェクト）」の
プロジェクトメンバーとして登録されました。

和食の魅力と、その背景にある文化を、
これからも丁寧に伝えていきたいと思います。

I am honored to be registered as a project member of
“Enjoy Japanese Taste – A National Movement Connecting Food and the Spirit of Washoku,”
a Washoku promotion initiative led by the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan.

I will continue to share the values and cultural significance of Washoku through my activities.
