For those who are worried that their English exam is almost expiring before they secure a job or start the NMBI process for the Decision Letter (DL), please don’t stress. ✅

The new pathway now requires English proficiency at the OSCE preparation stage and again when registering for your PIN. This means you still have time even if your current test is nearing expiry.

Focus on progressing with your NMBI process and job search, and when you reach the OSCE and PIN stages, that’s when the English test will be essential. So, no need to panic—your journey is still on track. 💪✨

📢 Important NMBI Update – English Test Now Required After Decision Letter

NMBI has announced a change in the process for internationally educated nurses.

✅ Nurses can now submit their application documents and proceed to receive their Decision Letter (DL) even before taking the English test.
✅ The English language exam (IELTS/OET) will only be required after receiving the DL, specifically at the stage of booking the RCSI exam which leads to full registration and the issuance of your PIN.

This means the process is now faster and more flexible — you can move forward with your application to NMBI and complete the English requirement later in the journey.
