“Here are five things you should check.

1: Heat.
If the hive is exposed to too much direct sunlight and has poor ventilation, the colony can become uncomfortable.

2: Pests and predators.
Ants, wax moths, hive beetles and other pests can make the colony feel unsafe.

3: Lack of food.
During periods when there are few flowering plants, bees may struggle to get enough nectar and pollen.

4: Water.
Especially during hot weather, bees need access to a reliable water source.

5: Disturbance.
Opening the hive too frequently, poor handling, vibrations or strong smells around the hive can stress the colony.”
