The boutique in your estate. The electronics shop you trust. The tailor who gets your measurements right. The baker who made your birthday cake.

These businesses don't make headlines. Don't get investor funding. Don't trend on Twitter.

But they employ people. Feed families. Serve communities. Show up every single day.

They deserve tools that actually work for them. Not just tools that work for people who already have resources.

That's what I'm trying to build. For the businesses that keep neighborhoods running.

Still in testing. Getting closer. If you know any small business owners who'd be interested when it's ready, tag them.

A message to SME owners,

If you run a boutique, barber shop, jewelry store, tailoring business, bakery, or any small operation where you're the owner, manager, and marketing department all at once - I'm building something for you.

Not a complicated tool with fifty features you'll never use. Something simple that actually helps you stay visible online without adding another full-time job to your plate.

Because your business is good. Your work is solid. People just need to know you exist and remember you're there.

That's the problem I'm solving. Almost ready to test it properly. Then we'll see if it actually works.

Most social media tools are built for corporate brands and influencers.

They're not built for the woman selling kitenge dresses in Makadara. Or the guy running an electronics shop in CBD. Or the baker in Ruiru taking cake orders on WhatsApp.

Those businesses need something different. Something that understands their actual day looks like serving customers from 8 AM to 8 PM, not sitting in an office scheduling content.

That's the gap nobody's filling. That's what I'm working on.

For the real hustlers. Not the people with teams. The people who ARE the team.

If you sell jewelry, clothes, electronics, bake cakes, fix phones, cut hair - this one's for you.

Your Instagram has three posts from five months ago. Your Facebook gets updated when you remember. You know you should post more but honestly, when?

Between managing stock, dealing with customers, chasing payments, and actually running your business, social media falls to the bottom of the list.

I get it. That's exactly why I'm building what I'm building.

You shouldn't need a marketing degree to let people know you exist. You just need to show up. And maybe something that helps you show up consistently.

Working on that something. Almost there.

To everyone running a shop, salon, tailoring business, bakery or any hustle in between,

I see you closing late because a customer showed up at 7:58 PM. I see you juggling suppliers who want cash upfront and clients who want credit. I see you trying to post on social media when you can barely keep up with the actual work.

You're not failing at social media. You're just stretched too thin.

That's what I'm trying to fix. Not for big companies with marketing teams. For you. The person doing everything themselves.

Still building. Still testing. But I'm building this for real entrepreneurs solving real problems.

Power went out right in the middle of testing something important yesterday.

Sat there in the dark for a minute feeling frustrated. Then remembered there's a reason I keep my laptop charged and my phone has hotspot.

You adapt or you don't. Kenya teaches you that fast.

Every entrepreneur here has a backup plan for their backup plan. Not because we're paranoid. Because we've learned the hard way what happens when you don't.

Built different out here.

Spent an hour at Utawala Market this weekend just watching how business happens.

Sellers calling out to customers. Bargaining back and forth. Building relationships through conversations, not transactions. Some customers walk past five stalls to buy from the one person they trust.

No algorithm deciding who gets visibility. No paid ads. Just human connection and reputation built over time.

Makes me wonder how much of that we lose when everything moves online. And how much of it we should try to keep.

It's 11 PM and I'm still thinking about a conversation from this afternoon.

Someone asked me why I don't just get a normal job instead of trying to build something that might not work.

Fair question honestly. A normal job would pay better right now. Less stress. More security.

But there's this thing about trying to solve a problem you've seen up close. Once you see it clearly, it's hard to just walk away and let someone else figure it out.

Maybe that's stubborn. Maybe that's purpose. I don't know yet.

Boda guy I use regularly told me he's saving to buy his own bike. Right now he rents daily.

He's been tracking every shilling for eight months. Knows exactly how much more he needs. Has a payment plan ready for when he hits the target.

No business degree. No startup capital. Just clear math and discipline.

Made me think about how much planning I do versus how much action I actually take. Sometimes we overthink what just needs simple ex*****on.

Hardest part of building something isn't the building. It's the waiting.

Waiting to test. Waiting to see if it works. Waiting to know if people will actually use it. Waiting to find out if the last six months meant anything.

You can't rush testing. You can't skip steps. You just have to sit with the uncertainty and keep moving forward anyway.

Not the motivational post people like to share. But it's honest.
