Kenya’s National Assembly of Kenya is asking the public to give feedback on the new Sacco Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2025 before Friday, April 24.
The proposed law would allow 30 or more Saccos to join together and form a bigger “secondary Sacco” to help manage money, liquidity, and shared services like payments.
This new Sacco would only work with other Saccos—not individual members—and would be closely monitored by Sacco Societies Regulatory Authority.
The aim is to make Saccos stronger by allowing them to lend to each other, invest in government securities, and support bigger financial transactions.
