Let me confess, I take too long to fire an employee, and mostly by the time I do, there’s already a lot of damage and losses in the business. Which trauma do I carry?
Hiring the right people is one of the most important decisions a business owner can make. Bringing the wrong person into your team can hurt your business’s growth, reputation, and morale.

When hiring, it’s important to look beyond just skills on paper. Character, work ethic, and attitude matter a lot.

It’s better to keep looking. Hiring without checking properly can lead to serious problems down the road.

On the other hand, firing is never easy.

But waiting too long to let go of a poor performer can cause more harm than good.

It’s like ignoring a small leak in your roof until the whole ceiling collapses.

Being prudent means acting quickly and fairly when someone is not the right fit.

Good businesses thrive because they have strong, trustworthy teams.

Respect Personal Boundaries.

Respect people’s physical boundaries. Don’t hug/touch for too long. Don’t stand/sit too close to strangers. Everybody’s entitled to their personal space. And don’t dress to provoke others around you.

Respect people’s sexual boundaries. Not everybody is interested with your kiss. Don’t violate people’s right to their sexual safety – even in marriage – no one should be forced to act beyond their beliefs.

Respect people’s work boundaries. Stick to your professional work description. Never take advantage of your subordinates. Create a work environment where everyone feels safe and secure.

Respect people’s material boundaries. You are not entitled to your friends or relatives’ money, car, laptop, clothes etc. And everyone reserves the right of admission to their house.

Respect people’s emotional boundaries. Don’t use a language that make others uncomfortable. Respect personal, religious and cultural dynamics. Your conversations should be full of grace.

Respect people’s time boundaries. Show up for appointments at least five minutes to time. And don’t visit/call people during their work hours – unless you have a genuine emergency.
