The best way to improve lives of people in kenya is not solely about electing good political leaders.
The most crusial step that elected leaders must take is
changing the system in which governance is delivered to the citizens.
the existing systems are meant to benefit more those who are in power and oppress the common mwanainchi. The government, basing on those systems, constracts laws through the parliament and use those laws to creat policies that only work in its favour.
we as acountry are at a critical point where we need to change those systems so favour citizens.
For example, the system allows politicians to give bursaries to citizens and give them money to do so. politicians then use this oppotunity to steal the money by giving half to the publict through busaries and then pocket the rest. you cant arrest them because they distributed the money and the have receipts.
Instead of giving governors busaries, mp, women rep and MCAs, make education free, and truely free. From primary to universities and collages, and do away with bursaries. There are many more channels through which the government leaks money into the pockets of politicians. I once heard a neighbour saying it costs 7m to campaign for MP seat. he then added that its easier to recover that amount in less than six months in office!!! Tha's where we are. If you tell MPs to change those policies allowing them to access bursaries and replace them with policies that see to it that all kenyan children recieve free and quality education from primary to tertiary levels, they oppose because its a loss to them. let wake up kenyans. # WANTAMi
