Consent for s*x can mean different things to different people, men and women. We had such an engaging and insightful session on consent with in Nairobi. The conversations have just began and they must continue, to get us all on the same page.

NO means NO
Consent must be informed and freely given
Consent must be verbalized
Silence is NOT consent
Consent can be withdrawn at any time
Consent to one (act or partner) does not mean consent to all
A person intoxicated or unconcious (incapacitated) cannot give consent.
Sexual contact with a minor (under 18) is a criminal offence regardless of 'consent'

Violence against women is a global problem that takes many forms including Intimate Partner Violence, FGM, Forced marriages, Sexual Harassment among others. Violence against women is a human rights issue and we must all come together to end it.
