Heavenly Father, as we step into this new week, we surrender our need to control the outcome and embrace the beauty of Your orchestration.

We acknowledge that we are in a season of transition a bridge between what was and what You are about to birth and we choose to view this not as a place of waiting, but as Your holy preparation room.

Lord, forgive us for the times we have tried to calculate our breakthroughs using the limited mathematics of our past. We repent for the anxiety that arises when we cannot see the blueprint, and we ask that You quiet our restless hearts.

We ground ourselves in the promise of *1 Corinthians 2:9*, trusting that because You are a good Father, the wonders You have prepared far exceed our finite imaginations.

We lean into the mystery of Your sacred surprises. Like a child who trusts their parent’s heart, we trust Yours. We release the desire for a timeline and instead fix our eyes on Your faithfulness.

As it is written in *Isaiah 64:4*, *"Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any God besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for him,"* we choose to wait with expectancy.

We believe that as we walk in obedience, You are working behind the scenes, lining up divine encounters and blessings that will cause us to stand in awe of Your goodness.

Grant us the grace to
remain faithful in the small things this week, even when the manifestation seems hidden. Strengthen our hearts to keep seeking You above all else, knowing that You are not withholding from us, but preparing us to receive all that You have stored up.

We walk into this week with hearts open and spirits at peace, knowing that our manifestation is safe in Your hands.

We declare that this week will be fruitful, led by Your wisdom and marked by Your favor. May our lives be a reflection of Your glory as we transition into all that You have prepared.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray and believe,

*Amen.*

Father’s Day can feel complicated.

For some of us, it’s joy and grilled food and “thank you, Dad.”
For others, it’s quiet ache. Absence. Words never said. Love that didn’t land the way we needed.

At Truth Encounter, we see both. And we hold space for both.

Healing from “father wounds” doesn’t mean pretending the hurt wasn’t real. It means letting God meet you in that place. Naming the pain. Receiving His fatherhood where earthly fathers fell short. Learning what safe, steady love actually feels like.

This Sunday, if your heart feels heavy, you’re not broken. You’re human. And you’re not alone.

Today we honor the good. We grieve what was missing. And we open our hands to the Father who heals, restores, and calls us His own.

“_As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him_” - Psalm 103:13

If you need community, our doors are open.

Happy Father’s Day. May you know you’re deeply loved + deeply seen.

Not every angry parent was abusive. Sometimes their anger was accumulated exhaustion. Accumulated disappointment. Accumulated years of carrying heavy responsibilities without anyone to emotionally support them.
Sometimes the child simply became the safest target — the closest witness to a parent’s overwhelmed nervous system crying out for help. The anger was never truly about the child, even though it deeply affected them.
Understanding this doesn’t mean you have to excuse the pain you experienced.
It means you can begin to separate your worth from their wounds.
Conscious healing for the child (now grown) is not pretending the anger didn’t hurt.
It is gently asking yourself:

What did I need back then that I didn’t receive?
How did I internalize their pain as my own fault?
What healing do I now need so I don’t carry their wounds into my own life and relationships?

You deserved safety, gentleness, and emotional presence — even if your parent couldn’t give it.
That truth matters. Your healing matters more.

Inner child healing is a powerful therapeutic approach focused on reconnecting with, validating, and nurturing the younger version of yourself who experienced unmet needs, emotional neglect, criticism, control, or trauma. This work is especially relevant for those dealing with parental wounds—like emotionally absent, critical, or controlling parents—as it helps break cycles of self-criticism, perfectionism, people-pleasing, or emotional numbness.
The core idea is reparenting: giving your younger self the safety, love, validation, and support you may not have fully received.

**A Gentle Reminder for Your Journey**
Healing isn’t about erasing the past—it’s about integrating it so it no longer controls your present. Many people from Kenyan (and similar) backgrounds with hardworking but emotionally distant or critical parents carry deep wounds of “never enough.” You can honor that pain while choosing growth.
Start small. One technique a few times a week can create real shifts. Be patient and celebrate progress.

Your pain from abusive homes, emotionally absent parents, controlling or super critical mothers — it’s real.
It’s valid. It shaped you.
But it doesn’t get to define the rest of your life.
Don’t carry it as a crutch.
Don’t use it to justify staying stuck.
Don’t let yesterday steal tomorrow.
Acknowledge the wound.
Feel it. Grieve it.
Then choose to heal.
You are not what was done to you.
You are what you decide to become.
Break the cycle.
Choose growth.
Choose yourself.
Healing is possible.
Growth is non-negotiable.
