Is your child bursting with ideas, questions, and creativity?

It’s time to spark their inner entrepreneur at the Pista Innovation Hub’s Kids Innovation Workshop.

Here’s what your kid and teen need to spark that inner entrepreneur:

1. Help them spot everyday problems & turn them into solutions by allowing them to ask, "why" and "how" questions. Train their minds to see challenges as opportunities. Ask them, “How would you fix it?” That’s real-world problem-solving in action.

2. Introduce Hands-On Learning.
Give them the chance to build, create, or prototype. Let them make things with their hands. E.g. crafts, DIY projects, or even designing their own board game. Tangible creation builds confidence and innovation.

3. Give them a platform to learn how to pitch ideas confidently and in the presence of an audience. This improves their communication and boosts their confidence.

4. Discover the power of teamwork & money skills. Give them some little money and allow them to budget it on their own.

5. Expose Them to Stories of Young Entrepreneurs.
Kids get inspired by kids. At Pista Innovation Hub we share real stories about young changemakers and kid-run businesses. If they can see it, they can be it.

Lastly and most important:
6. Enroll Them in Innovation & Entrepreneurship Programs.
Our workshops Pista Innovation Hub give kids tools to bring their ideas to life from design thinking and prototyping to budgeting and pitching. These programs turn imagination into action.

I am a beneficiary of the 8.4.4 system and I am not ashamed to admit that:

1. It lacked the practical hands-on bit of it

2. Real-world problem-solving skills are more important than just passing exams

3. It promoted more competition and less collaboration and team work.

4. It did not empower learners to become entrepreneurs or independent thinkers

5. It produced more job seekers than creators

6. It gave the foundation, project-based learning gives practical experience.

Meet Charity Afeti - Research Lead at Pista Innovation Hub

I joined Pista because I believe in the power of creativity, collaboration, and practical solutions to drive progress in communities. At Pista, I contribute to designing and facilitating innovation experiences, from workshops to strategic research, that help individuals and organisations solve real-world problems using human-centred approaches.

My work involves supporting businesses, schools, and startups as they explore new ideas, ask the right questions, and co-create solutions that stick. I'm especially passionate about making innovation feel accessible, not just as a concept, but as a tool anyone can use to create meaningful impact.
