A.I, ROBOTICS & ENTERPRISE HACKATHON - FREE ENTRY

A.I, robotics & enterprise innovations to mitigate obesity, undernutrition, disabilities and elder care. The first hackathon will be online to shortlist participants for a full-day in-person hackathon and advisory support to be held in Nairobi on Wednesday 3 June 2026. Only short-listed participants in the online hackathon will participate in the full-day in-person event that follows. The winner of the full-day in-person hackathon will get a cash prize of US$ 500, the first runner-up US$300, and second runner-up US$ 200 (or equivalent in Kenya Shillings). Terms and conditions apply to participation, selection and award of the prizes, which will be notified to all participants prior to the start of the hackathon. The winners, runners-up, and the next six selected competitors will have an opportunity to pitch their innovations for funding at the 5-day showcase, awards and seminar event to be held in Nairobi on 8 - 12 June 2026.

A.I. showcases:

A.I and robotics start-ups and established innovators will showcase solutions for people to mitigate impacts of obesity, undernutrition, disability, and aging. They will share ideas, build collaborative relationships, advocate for public policy changes, and pitch their solutions to investors for funding.

Awards:

Awards will be presented to fete publicly listed corporations from all major markets that have the best pensions for employees based on actuarial metrics of impact on retiring staff. National social protection schemes worldwide will be recognized based on analysis of adequacy, coverage, cost-effectiveness, and impact in making lives of people better.

Seminars:

Immersive presentations, insightful discussions, and action-oriented decisions will be the hallmark of the seminars, so that every participant leaves with useful information and connections to spur implementation that solidifies social protection impact in their respective spheres.

Research reports:

1. Comparative analyses of corporate pension design, actuarial valuations, and optimality for employees.

2. Adequacy, coverage, cost-effectiveness, and impact of national social protection schemes.
