What's your take Farm With Fred Ken the farmer Farmers
KALRO has partnered with CIP to test a new type of late blight-resistant potato, which does not need any fungicides. These new potatoes, made by using biotechnology, have already been tested successfully in Kenya for 5 seasons in 3 locations without using any fungicides. The trials have shown in all cases that the new late blight resistant biotech potatoes can be grown in the presence of late blight without fungicide while late blight disease killed all other conventional varieties.
This late blight resistant biotech potato will protect farmers from losing their crops to late blight—and without requiring expensive and potentially hazardous fungicides.
