Today, Wednesday, from 12:00–2:00 PM, I was privileged to be in Baringo County for a Prayer Day.

I shared an inspirational message with the Form Four candidates, parents, and teachers on the theme: “THE ACADEMIC WAY OF SUCCESS.” It was a powerful moment of encouragement, prayer, and faith as we entrusted the students’ future to God.

One of the most touching moments was seeing parents laying hands on their children, praying with tears, and committing the destiny of their sons and daughters to the Lord. It was a beautiful demonstration of love, sacrifice, and hope for the next generation.

I finally charged and commissioned the candidates for the assignment before them—to conquer with high spirits, wisdom, and resilience through the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

To invite me to your school for Prayer Day, Academic Learning Community, Academic Mindset Excellence, Student Leadership Training, Career Mentorship, or Motivational Programmes, I would be honoured to serve.

PASTOR’S PRAYER DECLARATION

FRIDAY — DECLARING GOD’S FAITHFULNESS OVER OCTOBER
For every individual, family, student, professional, business owner, employee, farmer, investor, job seeker, ministry leader, and everyone trusting God for wisdom, preservation, progress, open doors, and the fulfilment of His purposes throughout October.

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT

KEY SCRIPTURES: LAMENTATIONS 3:22–23; PSALM 23:6

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

“Surely Your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life.”

Today, many people are entering October with real challenges: rising costs, delayed income, unemployment, business pressure, school fees, hospital bills, family responsibilities, uncertainty about the future, and plans that have not yet worked out.

The Word of God according to Lamentations 3:22–23 reminds us that God’s mercy never fails and that His compassion is new every morning. This means that each day of October carries fresh grace, fresh strength, and fresh opportunity. We are not entering this month empty; we are entering with the mercy of God.

Our confidence is not in our circumstances but in the presence of God.

Psalm 23:6 assures us that goodness and mercy will follow us all the days of our lives. God will guide us when we are uncertain, strengthen us when we are weak, provide when resources are limited, protect us in difficult situations, and make a way where we cannot see one. His faithfulness will sustain us, and His wisdom will help us make the right decisions throughout October.

By the Holy Word, we declare that October will be a month of divine direction, preservation, provision, fruitful opportunities, meaningful progress, peace, and testimonies. We declare that God’s mercy will speak for us, His hand will uphold us, His presence will go before us, and His goodness will follow us. We will not be abandoned, defeated, or overwhelmed, because the Lord is with us.

GOVERNMENTAL PRAYER — PRAYING WITH UNDERSTANDING

Heavenly Father, we adore You as the sovereign God, the Creator of heaven and earth, and the Lord over every season. Thank You for Your mercy, which has preserved us, and Your faithfulness, which never fails. We acknowledge that every breath, opportunity, provision, and victory comes from You.

Lord, according to the theme of this day, establish October as a month of wisdom, preservation, progress, open doors, meaningful opportunities, and fulfilled purpose. Guide our decisions, order our steps, and help us depend on You in every situation.

We commit our families, marriages, children, elderly parents, and loved ones into Your hands. Protect our homes, strengthen marriages, preserve children, comfort the elderly, and provide for every family need. Let peace, love, unity, and understanding rule in our households.

Bless professionals, business owners, employees, students, teachers, principals, drivers, farmers, investors, job seekers, and ministry leaders. Give them wisdom, excellence, safety, favour, productive relationships, reliable opportunities, and strength to fulfil their responsibilities.

Father, provide for rent, food, school fees, salaries, medical needs, transport, debt payments, business expenses, and every legitimate obligation. Open doors of income and connect us with trustworthy people, fruitful opportunities, and timely assistance.

Establish the work of our hands. Let our labour produce meaningful results. Give students concentration, teachers wisdom, employees favour, business owners customers and sound strategies, professionals recognition, drivers safety, farmers productivity, and ministry leaders strength and provision.

Preserve us from accidents, sickness, fraud, violence, loss, confusion, and harmful decisions. Protect our homes, workplaces, businesses, schools, journeys, and possessions. Let no weapon formed against us prosper.

Lord, release supernatural help throughout October. Let there be healing, provision, divine connections, unexpected favour, timely answers, signs, wonders, and miracles according to Your will. Where human strength is insufficient, let Your power make a way.

According to Numbers 6:24–26, bless us and keep us. Make Your face shine upon us and be gracious to us. Turn Your face toward us and give us peace. Let Your presence accompany us through every day of October.

We declare that October will not be wasted. Our labour will produce fruit, our steps will be directed, our needs will be supplied, and our lives will reflect the faithfulness of God.

We agree that goodness and mercy will follow us throughout this month. We will not be abandoned, defeated, or confused. The Lord will preserve us, provide for us, strengthen us, and bring us into testimonies that glorify His name.

May October be marked by answered prayers, divine protection, fruitful opportunities, restoration, peace, progress, and the fulfilment of God’s purposes.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

GOD IS OUR EVER-PRESENT HELP — BE STILL.

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.

He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.’

The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.” — Psalm 46:1–3, 10–11

There are seasons when life becomes noisy, uncertain, and overwhelming. We may feel surrounded by problems, pressured by circumstances, or anxious about what tomorrow will bring. Yet the Word reminds us that God is not distant from our trouble—He is our ever-present help.

Sometimes, the greatest expression of faith is not to panic, but to be still and know that He is God. Being still does not mean giving up; it means trusting God while He works, refusing to allow fear to control our hearts, and remembering that our security is not determined by the circumstances around us.

May God give us the grace to be still in the middle of the storm. May He calm our hearts, strengthen our faith, provide what we need, and remind us that He is with us.

And as God becomes our refuge and strength, may He also use us to become a source of refuge and hope to someone else. Through the PST. SAM SHEPHERD FOUNDATION, may God use us to stand with students facing financial and educational challenges. Where there is fear about school fees, uncertainty about tomorrow, or pressure that threatens a student's education, may God raise us to be part of the answer.

May we remember that the God who is present with us in our trouble is also able to work through us in the trouble of another.

BE STILL. GOD IS WITH US. GOD IS OUR REFUGE. GOD IS OUR STRENGTH. AND GOD CAN USE US TO BRING HOPE TO A STUDENT IN NEED.

Amen.

PASTOR’S PRAYER DECLARATION

THURSDAY — WELCOME, DEDICATION & POWER DECLARATION FOR THE NEW MONTH OF OCTOBER
For every individual, family, student, professional, business owner, employee, farmer, investor, job seeker, ministry leader, and everyone entering October with new plans, responsibilities, expectations, and prayers.

WORD OF ENCOURAGEMENT
KEY SCRIPTURES: ECCLESIASTES 9:11;
“I have seen something else under the sun: The race is not to the swift or the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wise or wealth to the brilliant or favour to the learned; but time and chance happen to them all.”
“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

Today, we welcome the month of October with thanksgiving and dedicate it to God. A new month is a new opportunity to trust God, seek His direction, learn from the past, and move forward with faith.

We commit our families, work, businesses, careers, studies, ministries, journeys, plans, and expectations into God’s hands. His hand will walk with us through every responsibility and every decision. His love will surround us, His mercy will sustain us, and His power will strengthen us.

October may bring responsibilities we have not yet seen, but God has already gone before us. He will give us wisdom for every decision, strength for every assignment, provision for every need, and protection in every journey. He will not abandon us halfway through the month; the God who begins with us will remain with us.

We therefore close the doors of the former season without fear, regret, or unnecessary mourning. We release disappointments, losses, failures, delays, sickness, confusion, rejection, and pain. We will not carry old wounds into a new month.

God is bringing new w**e for a new season. New w**e requires new w**eskins. Therefore, we receive new mindsets, new discipline, new faith, new wisdom, new relationships, new opportunities, and new capacity. We release old patterns, destructive habits, harmful relationships, and limiting thoughts that cannot support what God is bringing.

Even when the way is not visible, God will make a way. Even when resources are limited, His provision will meet us. Even when the future seems uncertain, His presence will go before us. We enter October with hope because God’s hand is upon us.

We declare that October will not be wasted. May it bring productivity without confusion, progress without unnecessary loss, opportunities without compromise, and success that honours God.

GOVERNMENTAL PRAYER — PRAYING WITH UNDERSTANDING

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, we thank You for bringing us into the month of October. We acknowledge that our times and seasons are in Your hands. We dedicate every day, week, opportunity, responsibility, journey, decision, and expectation of this month to You.

Lord, be our Shepherd throughout October. Because You are our Shepherd, we declare that we shall not lack. Lead us beside quiet waters and make us lie down in green pastures. Restore our souls, refresh our minds, renew our strength, and guide us along the right paths for Your name’s sake.

We agree with Psalm 23 that even when we walk through the valley of the shadow of death, we will fear no evil, because You are with us. Your presence will protect us, Your rod will correct us, and Your staff will comfort us. We shall not be destroyed by the valleys we pass through. We shall emerge safely by Your grace.

Father, according to Isaiah 43:18–19, help us not to remain trapped in the former things. We close the doors of the past season with peace. We release former disappointments, losses, failures, fear, sickness, confusion, rejection, delay, and painful memories. We refuse to carry the wounds of the former season into October.

Let every former door that must remain closed stay closed. Let no old pattern, destructive relationship, ungodly habit, repeated failure, or past oppression follow us into this new month. We close those doors without fear, regret, or unnecessary mourning.

Lord, open our eyes to the new thing You are doing. Make a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. Where we see limitations, reveal possibilities. Where the way appears blocked, create a path. Where resources are insufficient, provide wisdom, favour, people, and opportunities.

According to Isaiah 40:31, we wait upon You and receive renewed strength. We shall mount up with wings like eagles. We shall run and not grow weary. We shall walk and not faint. October will not drain us; Your grace will sustain us.

Father, according to Habakkuk 3:17–19, even if the fig tree does not bud, the vines do not produce fruit, the crops fail, the fields yield no food, and there are no animals in the stalls, we will still rejoice in You. We will not allow circumstances to control our faith. You are our strength, and You enable us to walk on high places.

We declare that October will not be governed by fear, scarcity, confusion, or disappointment. Even when visible results are delayed, we will trust Your Word. You will give us strength to continue, wisdom to make decisions, and grace to remain faithful.

According to Ecclesiastes 9:11, we acknowledge that the race is not always to the swift, nor the battle to the strong. Therefore, we reject pride and dependence on human ability alone. We receive divine timing, favour, wisdom, and direction. What human strength cannot achieve, God’s grace will accomplish.

According to Proverbs 3:5–6, we trust in You with all our hearts. We refuse to lean only on our own understanding. As we acknowledge You in all our ways, direct our paths and keep us from wrong decisions.

According to Psalm 121:7–8, preserve us from all harm. Watch over our lives, our families, our homes, our work, our businesses, our studies, our ministries, and our journeys. Watch over our coming and going throughout October and forevermore.

Father, provide for every need in this new month. Make a way for rent, food, school fees, medical expenses, salaries, business capital, debt payments, transport, and family responsibilities. Open legitimate doors of income and connect us with trustworthy people and fruitful opportunities.

Establish the work of our hands. Let our labour produce results. Give students concentration and discipline, employees favour and excellence, business owners wisdom and customers, professionals opportunity and recognition, farmers productivity, and ministry leaders strength and provision.

We declare that every good opportunity prepared for us in October will locate us. Let divine connections arise. Let delayed answers come forth. Let helpful people remember us. Let our names be mentioned in places where decisions are being made.

Protect us from harmful opportunities, fraudulent schemes, wrong relationships, unnecessary debt, wasteful spending, and decisions that would destroy our peace. Give us discernment to recognize what is from You and courage to reject what is not.

Father, prepare a table before us in the presence of our enemies. Let those who expected our downfall witness Your faithfulness. Turn opposition into testimony, rejection into recognition, delay into preparation, and pressure into promotion.

We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Every attack against our families, health, finances, careers, businesses, ministries, and destinies is defeated in the name of Jesus. We are covered by the blood of Jesus and strengthened by the power of the Holy Spirit.

We declare that October is a month of divine direction, protection, provision, fruitfulness, peace, healing, productivity, and progress. We shall not be abandoned. We shall not be confused. We shall not be defeated.

The Lord is our Shepherd. The Lord is our strength. The Lord is our provider. The Lord is our protector. The Lord is our guide. The Lord is our reward.

We enter October with faith, courage, wisdom, and expectation. The former season is closed, and we embrace the new thing God is doing. May the goodness and mercy of the Lord follow us throughout this month.

In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

O GOD, DO IT AGAIN IN OUR DAYS, LIKE THE DAYS OF OUR FATHERS.

“We have heard it with our ears, O God; our ancestors have told us what you did in their days, in days long ago. With your hand you drove out the nations and planted our ancestors; you crushed the peoples and made our ancestors flourish. It was not by their sword that they won the land, nor did their arm bring them victory; it was your right hand, your arm, and the light of your face, for you loved them.” — Psalm 44:1–3

There are moments when we look at our own lives and say, “O God, we have heard what You did for our fathers; do it again in our days.” The God who opened doors, provided, restored families, established careers, answered prayers, and carried our fathers through difficult seasons is still God today.

May God visit us in our own generation with the same faithfulness. May He make a way where we see no way, provide where there is need, restore what has been lost, and establish us where we have struggled to stand.

And may what God does in our lives become a testimony that strengthens someone else. May the stories of our deliverance become stories that our children and the next generation will one day tell.

Through the PST. SAM SHEPHERD FOUNDATION, may God also do it again for students facing educational and financial challenges. Where a student is wondering how they will remain in school, may God raise a Titus, open a door, provide the needed support, and give that student another reason to believe in their future.

O God, as You did it for our fathers, do it again in our days. And make us instruments through whom You will do it for a student in need.

Amen.
