Climate change has hit Amboseli hard, devastating traditional livestock farming and leaving families in the grip of extreme poverty. Combined with illiteracy and extreme poverty, women bear the brunt as they care for their families.
Through βs Alumni Engagement Innovation Fund, and embarked on a journey to transform the lives of marginalized women, turning a cherished household hobby, BEADWORK, into a powerful tool for empowerment.
Over a period of one year, our mission was to lift at least 1500 vulnerable people in Amboseli from the clutches of extreme poverty by embracing climate-smart and environmentally-friendly practices, nurturing a future thatβs sustainable for both the people and the planet.
We stay strong in our mission, driven by the remarkable transformations weβre witnessing in the communities!
