This type of painting is called “Sipsong Phasa Painting '' or paintings of foreigners/ethnicities, the traditional Siamese/Thai painting together with the inscription at Wat Pho and Wat Bang Khunthian Nok, Bangkok. Some paintings are from the paintings of Thai Literature and Jataka.

There is evidence of “Sipsong Phasa Painting '' could dating back to the Ayutthaya era and appears clearly which is a systematic drawing during the reign of King Rama 3 of Rattanakosin era, the symbolizes that Siam is open and accepting people from around the world to come to live or to trade in Siam / Siam is the land of diversity. Some paintings of people are based on hearsay from foreigners.
