VALE MAKES THE FIRST SHIPMENT TO ARCELORMITTAL THROUGH VALEMAX VESSEL

SAO PAULO - Vale will deliver its first shipment of iron ore to ArcelorMittal Valemax using a ship at the Port of Rotterdam. The Berge Jaya, chartered by Vale, should dock this week in the dry bulk terminal in Dutch Harbor. Built by Chinese Bohai Shipyard, the vessel type Valemax is the largest ore carrier in the world, with a capacity of 400 thousand tons.
According to Vale, these ships dock at international ports to cater to customers like Italian steelmaker Ilva (Port of Taranto), the German steel Rogesa (EMO Terminal Rotterdam), and ThyssenKrupp and HKM (EECV Terminal Rotterdam), the companies also Germany.
The ships still dock in ports Valemax Villanueva (Philippines), Shark and Ponta da Madeira (Brazil), Sohar (Oman) and Oita (Japan), besides Ore Transfer Station in Subic Bay, Philippines. Currently, there are 23 such vessels in operation. At the end of the year, will be 35 ships - 19 own and 16 chartered by Vale in long-term contracts.
