Subject: Something I've been working on for a year — launching Sunday

Three days from now, Korea's Living Kitchen: Kimchi goes live on Amazon.
For the past year, the question driving this project has been a simple one: why does kimchi taste the way it does? Not how to make it. Why it became what it is.
The answer turned out to require a thousand years of Korean history, the science of lactic acid bacteria, the philosophy of fermentation, and the hands of generations of Korean women who treated kimchi not as cooking but as infrastructure.
That is what this book is about.
Korea's Living Kitchen: Kimchi is the first English-language book to explore kimchi as science, history, and culture simultaneously. No recipes. No shortcuts. The full story.
It will be available on Amazon this Sunday, June 15.
More details in 72 hours.

—the first book in the series—does not begin with a recipe. It begins with a question: why does Korea have more than two hundred kinds of kimchi, and what does each one reveal about the culture that made it? The answer starts with fermentation. Kimchi is not simply spiced vegetables. It is...

Dive into the fascinating world of mangroves with these 7 essential facts!

Did you know that mangrove seeds start growing while still connected to the parent tree? Once they drop and float on ocean currents, they eventually take root on the seafloor, giving life to new mangrove trees. Explore more about these vital trees and their role in protecting our environment and marine life.

Dive in and learn the 7 things absolutely everyone should know about mangroves – the world's most important trees.

⭕5. Creating Native Habitat Structures for Sustainable Shrimp Farming

In aquaculture, creating a native habitat for farmed shrimp is a game-changer. By mimicking the natural environment through SYS, an innovative biomimicry-driven aquaculture system, numerous benefits can be unlocked. From stress reduction and enhanced growth to improved disease resistance and shrimp quality, this approach holds promise for sustainable and productive shrimp farming.
Another level of the system in KAMI SYS, a -driven aquaculture system, is the creation of native habitat structures derived from the natural ecosystem.
Creating a native habitat environment in shrimp farming is essential for several reasons. Providing an environment similar to the natural habitat of aquaculture animals like shrimp can bring the following benefits: stress reduction, growth enhancement, survival rate improvement, disease prevention, balanced microbial community, meeting behavioral needs, encouragement of natural social structures, providing hiding places, Foraging and Exploration Behavior, and Improvement in the Quality, Taste, and Nutritional Value of the farmed shrimp.
1. Simulating the natural habitat can reduce stress in farmed shrimp. Reduced stress can enhance their immune response, increasing their disease resistance.
2. By mimicking the shrimp's natural habitat, growth conditions can be optimized. This can lead to an increase in growth rate and final production volume.
3. Creating a native habitat environment can improve the survival rate of farmed shrimp. This is possible by providing temperatures, water quality, and structural characteristics similar to their natural habitats.
4. A habitat similar to their natural environment can help shrimp develop natural disease resistance. Additionally, a natural environment can help maintain a balanced microbial community that suppresses the proliferation of harmful pathogens.
5. Meeting Behavioral Needs
The behavioral needs of shrimp refer to satisfying the various behavioral patterns exhibited by shrimp in their natural habitat. This is crucial in allowing shrimp to remain healthy. is inspired by nature and imitates the natural ecological environment to reproduce the ecological environment and habits of shrimp, that is, farmed organisms, in a farm similar to nature, thereby achieving the highest productivity, protecting the natural environment, and providing sustainable farming for the welfare of shrimp.
In conclusion, creating a native habitat environment in shrimp farming not only benefits the well-being of the shrimp but also enhances the overall productivity and sustainability of aquaculture. By simulating the natural habitat, we can reduce stress, improve growth conditions, increase survival rates, and enhance disease resistance. AquaMimicry, inspired by nature, provides a way to achieve the highest productivity while protecting the natural environment and ensuring sustainable farming for the welfare of shrimp.

⭕ 3. Unveiling : Achieving Aquaculture Harmony Through Nature-Inspired Water Management

Achieving Aquaculture Harmony Through Nature-Inspired Water Management
Creating a natural and balanced environment for shrimp in aquacultureis essential for their well-being and growth. The AquaMimicry system employs nature-imitating technologies to replicate the shrimp's natural habitat, reducing the stress caused by water changes and promoting a more harmonious environment. Maintaining biodiversity and balanced water conditions is highlighted, as these factors directly impact the shrimp's ability to thrive. This approach is inspired by the understanding that nature's balance results from a long history of interaction among biological elements rather than simply the combination of known chemical, biological, and physical elements.

In addition to optimizing the aquaculture environment using synbiotics, the AquaMimicry system can apply various nature-imitating aquaculture technologies to create an environment similar to the shrimp's home habitat.

Artificially created culturing water is significantly more vulnerable than water in the natural environment, so if there is a small change in the water, the shrimp repeatedly freak out due to the water change. Vulnerable and shallow water loses colloids and biodiversity, reducing its ability to support life.

When biodiversity is destroyed, nothing but shrimp is allowed to live, and even shrimp can barely survive.

The shallower the water and the less mature it is, the greater the amount of water exchange.

A large water exchange means there is less water for shrimp to live in, so water exchange is performed.

However, even the exchanged water is never familiar to living things, and adapting to the new environment requires time, effort, and energy. In other words, this promotes another artificial environmental imbalance. Well balanced water can make the shrimps as comforrtable like resident in their home. It means less stress.

Shrimp monoculture means shrimp should do all the rules of their growth, water quality control the pH, sludge volume, oxygen supply.

It is water management inspired by nature that tries to maintain the balance of water and tries to maintain that balance during the aquaculture period.

Nature is not the final result of artificially combining the chemical, biological, and physical elements we know. Rather, it is the result of balance and harmony formed by the interaction of all biological elements over a very long period.
