🌊 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗩𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮 𝗡𝗮𝗻𝗴! 🇻🇳

This June, our whole team swapped screens for sunshine and headed to 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗴 (𝗩𝗶𝗲𝘁𝗻𝗮𝗺) 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗽 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟱 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 — and what a trip it was.

From paddling basket boats through the coconut palms of Hoi An, to wandering the lantern-lit streets and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, to soaking in the views at Ba Na Hills — we packed in adventure, incredible food, and more than a few shared laughs (and toasts 🍻).

Trips like this remind us that great work starts with great people. 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗸 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 who made it unforgettable, and to the team that keeps DataVerse moving forward every day.

📍 𝗙𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗡𝗦𝗙𝗢𝗥𝗠 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (𝗣𝗜𝗞)

In May 2026, the DataVerse team traveled to Sayyabouly Province to conduct field data collection for the P*K Research.

𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗲𝗹𝗱𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝗴𝗵𝗹𝘆 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗳𝘂𝗹. Through close coordination with local authorities and strong teamwork, we were able to complete the planned data collection while maintaining the quality standards.

While data collection is often summarized in reports and statistics, the reality behind the numbers is a journey filled with challenges, persistence, and meaningful conversations.

One of the main challenges was 𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 interview participants. The research applied specific selection criteria (e.g., we want to talk to youth and their parents, but getting 2 people from the same household during the production period is hard to find).

Another challenge we encountered was 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. Reaching some target villages required traveling along rough and muddy roads, especially after rainfall.

Despite these challenges, we were welcomed by local communities who generously shared their experiences, perspectives, and insights. Their participation is what makes evidence-based research possible.
