රාජකාරියට නුසුදුසු වන ආකාරයට හැසිරෙමින් මහජනතාව සමඟ තර්ජනාත්මක වාග් විලාෂයකින් වාද කර ගැනීමේ සිදු වීමක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් අදාල උප පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයාගේ වැඩ තහනම් කෙරේ.
වතුපිටිවල අයෝජන කලාප පොලිස් මුරපොලේ රාජකාරී කරමින් සිටි උප පොලිස් පරීක්ෂකවරයෙකු 2026.07.23 වන දින පැය 1045ට පමණ වතුපිටිවල රෝහල අසන්නයේ පුද්ගලික ආයතනයක් ඉදිරිපිටදී නිල ඇදුමින් රාජකාරියට නුසුදුසු වන ආකාරයට හැසිරෙමින් මහජනතාව සමඟ තර්ජනාත්මක වාග් විලාෂයකින් වාද කර ගැනීමේ සිදු වීමක් සම්බන්ධයෙන් වහාම ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි වැඩ තහනම් කිරීමට පියවර ගෙන ඇත.
අදාල නිලධාරියාගේ ක්‍රියා කලාපයෙන් ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලීසිය හා සමස්ත රාජ්‍ය සේවයම අපකීර්තියට පත්වන බව පෙනී යන බැවින්, එම ක්‍රියාව අනෙකුත් නිලධාරීන්ටද වැරදි පුර්වාදර්ශයක් වන බැවින් සහ තවදුරටත් සේවයේ තබා ගැනීමෙන් පොලිස් සේවයේ කීර්තිනාමයට හා අභිමානයට හානියක් සහ කැළලක් වන බැවින් ආයතන සංග්‍රහයේ වගන්ති ප්‍රකාරව ක්‍රියා කරමින් වහාම ක්‍රියාත්මක වන පරිදි අදාල නිලධාරියාගේ රාජකාරී වැඩ තහනම් කිරීමට කටයුතු කර ඇත.
මහජනතාවගේ විශ්වාසය හා ගෞරවය දිනූ විනයගරුක පොලිස් සේවයක් පවත්වාගෙන යාම අපගේ මූලික අරමුණයි. නීතිය හා විනය සුරැකීමට බැඳී සිටින නිලධාරීන්ගෙන් සිදුවන මෙවැනි අශෝභන හෝ අනිසි හැසිරීම් කිසිසේත්ම අනුමත නොකරන අතර, මහජනතාවගේ සුරක්ෂිතභාවය සහ අයිතිවාසිකම් වෙනුවෙන් යුක්තිගරුකව පෙනී සිටීමට ශ්‍රී ලංකා පොලිසිය බැඳී සිටියි.

வத்துபிட்டிவல முதலீட்டு வலய பொலிஸ் காவல் நிலையத்தில் கடமையாற்றி வந்த உப பொலிஸ் பரிசோதகர் ஒருவர், 2026.07.23 அன்று காலை சுமார் 10.45 மணியளவில் வத்துபிட்டிவல வைத்தியசாலைக்கு அருகிலுள்ள தனியார் நிறுவனம் ஒன்றின் முன்பாக உத்தியோகபூர்வ சீருடையில் கடமையாற்றும் நிலையில், கடமைக்கு பொருத்தமற்ற வகையில் நடந்து கொண்டு, பொதுமக்களுடன் மிரட்டும் வகையிலான வார்த்தைப் பிரயோகங்களுடன் வாக்குவாதத்தில் ஈடுபட்ட சம்பவம் தொடர்பில், உடனடியாக அமுலுக்கு வரும் வகையில் அவரது பணி இடைநிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளது.
குறித்த அதிகாரியின் இச்செயற்பாடு, இலங்கை பொலிஸினதும் முழு அரச சேவையினதும் நற்பெயருக்கு களங்கம் ஏற்படுத்தக்கூடியதாக இருப்பதுடன், ஏனைய அதிகாரிகளுக்கும் தவறான முன்னுதாரணமாக அமையும். மேலும், அவரை தொடர்ந்தும் சேவையில் வைத்திருப்பது பொலிஸ் சேவையின் கண்ணியத்திற்கும் நற்பெயருக்கும் பாதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்தும் என்பதால், நிறுவனச் சட்டத் தொகுப்பின் (Establishments Code) தொடர்புடைய விதிகளின்படி உடனடியாக அமுலுக்கு வரும் வகையில் அவரது கடமைகள் இடைநிறுத்தப்பட்டுள்ளன.
பொதுமக்களின் நம்பிக்கையையும் மரியாதையையும் பெற்ற ஒழுக்கமிக்க பொலிஸ் சேவையை நிலைநிறுத்துவதே எமது அடிப்படை நோக்கமாகும். சட்டத்தையும் ஒழுக்கத்தையும் பாதுகாக்கப் பொறுப்பேற்றுள்ள அதிகாரிகளால் மேற்கொள்ளப்படும் இத்தகைய ஒழுங்கற்ற அல்லது பொருத்தமற்ற நடத்தைகள் எவ்விதத்திலும் ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளப்படமாட்டாது. பொதுமக்களின் பாதுகாப்பையும் உரிமைகளையும் உறுதிப்படுத்தும் வகையில் நீதியுடனும் பொறுப்புடனும் செயல்படுவதற்கு இலங்கை பொலிஸ் உறுதிபூண்டுள்ளது.

Sub-Inspector Suspended for Conduct Unbecoming of a Police Officer
A Sub-Inspector attached to the Wathupitiwala Investment Zone Police Outpost has been suspended from duty with immediate effect following an incident in which he allegedly used threatening and inappropriate language towards members of the public while behaving in a manner unbecoming of a police officer.
The incident reportedly occurred at approximately 10:45 a.m. on 23 July 2026, while the officer was in official uniform in front of a private institution in the Wathupitiwala Hospital area.
The conduct of the officer concerned is considered detrimental to the reputation of the Sri Lanka Police and the wider public service. It also sets an unacceptable example for fellow officers and has the potential to undermine the integrity, dignity, and public confidence in the Police Service. Accordingly, the officer has been suspended from duty with immediate effect in accordance with the provisions of the Establishments Code.
The Sri Lanka Police remains firmly committed to maintaining a disciplined and professional police service that earns and upholds the trust and confidence of the public. Any conduct by police officers that is inconsistent with the standards expected of those entrusted with upholding law and order is wholly unacceptable. The Sri Lanka Police will continue to take prompt and appropriate action against any officer whose behavior falls short of these standards, while safeguarding the rights, safety, and confidence of the public.
