Cricket vs Rugby Legends! 🏏🏉

Every 3 seconds, someone in the world develops Dementia.

The Lanka Alzheimers foundation is the only organisation dedicated to this fight in Sri Lanka. Alzheimers as you know, is hard not just on the person but also the families and the carers.
The LAF and the centre, they run for people purely on a volunteer based centre where people are left the entire day under their care and I have seen how this activity centre brings joy back to people through music, dance and therapeutic activities. The LAF and its centre rely entirely on community donations to provide these services.

The Sri Lanka cricket legends, mostly from the 1996 World Cup-winning team, are coming together to play a T20 cricket game against the Rugby players of the Northampton Saints and Asia Pacific Lions on the 24th of August in Colombo to raise funds to support this noble cause.

Every 3 seconds, someone in the world is told they have dementia. For them, and for the families who love them, memory becomes a different kind of journey - one where care, patience, and community matter more than ever.

In this short message, Professor Shehan Williams shares why that journey shouldn't be walked alone and why Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation exists: to make sure no family in Sri Lanka faces dementia without support, without a place to turn, without hope.

This year, organised in aid of Lanka Alzheimer's Foundation with the support of Northampton Saints and Asia Pacific Lions, cricket legends and rugby stars come together on the field to help us keep that support going.
