A Simply Modern Classic Retreat!
Given the challenge of retreating the entire interior of a private residence at Nugegoda, Sri Lanka 🇱🇰
Modern classic style is the latest fashion in interior design these days. We used gold, black, peach pink and natural leather colors to represent the modern classic look.
*Living Area:*
*Why used a leather sofa?*
Considering the business background and the busy lifestyle of the family, We decided to use a Leather sofa as it is very easy to clean- usually requiring a light dusting or rub down a couple of times a year whereas fabric needs to be vacuumed and cleaned regularly. Leather is durable and can lasts for decades if cared for properly.
*Why used wooden flooring:*
One of the biggest factor we consider here is that hardwood flooring is a more sanitary option than other floor types. With wooden flooring, there is no place for debris to hide, making for a healthier, safer living environment, especially for allergy sufferers.
Generally, wooden floors cost more than other floor finishes, but they also require less maintenance. Because these are typically sealed surfaces with a protective layer of finish and wooden floors are more stain resistant than other types of flooring.
So those are the main factors we considered when choosing the floor finish for this residence.
*Pantry Area: *
We used a combination of concrete and wooden for the main pantry area of the residence. The polished wooden floors with concrete finish walls enhance this kitchens bold structure. Concrete works nicely with timber as it a natural, raw and modern classics combination. Concrete finish is used in the wall and kitchen base bringing a sense of unity to the space.Concrete doesn’t always have a flat and polished look.
