Through Their Lens is a nature and wildlife photography competition that asks us to look closer at a growing reality: wildlife and waste increasingly share the same spaces.

We’re inviting photographers to document moments where waste impacts animals, natural environments, or where people are actively working to change that story.
Selected photographs will be exhibited and reviewed by sector specialists in wildlife and waste management, with entries judged and attended by prominent industry professionals.

කාබන් මොනොක්සයිඩ්, බෙන්සීන්, ස්ටයිරීන් සහ වයිනයිල් ක්ලෝරයිඩ් වැනි අධික විෂ සහිත වායූන් ද මෙමගින් මුදා හරින අතර එමඟින් ශ්වසන රෝග, ස්නායු පද්ධතියට හානි, ප්‍රජනන හානිය සහ හෘද රෝග ඇතිවීමේ අවදානම වැඩි කරයි.

DO YOU KNOW??? Burning plastics and polythene releases a dangerous cocktail of toxic gases that pose serious health and environmental risks. These include dioxins and furans, some of the deadliest chemical poisons linked to cancer, immune system damage, and developmental issues.
Highly toxic gases like carbon monoxide, benzene, styrene, and vinyl chloride are also released, causing respiratory illnesses, nervous system damage, reproductive harm, and increased risk of heart disease.
Additionally, burning plastics emit fine particulate matter loaded with carcinogens and free radicals that can deepen lung and cardiovascular problems. The fumes can trigger chronic inflammation and disrupt gene expression, contributing to diabetes and other chronic diseases. Plastic burning is not only a major air pollutant but also a hidden global health crisis demanding urgent action to stop open burning and improve waste management worldwide.
