ආයුබෝවන් ! First of all Our condolences to the families and friends who have lost loved ones at this sudden terrorists attack . We have faced similar situation in 2004 with Tsunami and it was a natural disaster. As a strong nation together we came back to our normal hospitality industry and reached "The best destination to travel in 2019" Lets bring back our industry again to the top as a team. Government including ministry of tourism may do their part and lets do what we can do. Following are few suggestions and ideas. Share among hoteliers and professional in tourism industry for best results. 1. Stop sharing disturbing photos with dead bodies, damaged buildings etc. on social media platforms. 2. Lets start new social media posts with images showing beauty of Sri Lanka and Hospitality Industry photos with "Welcome to Sri Lanka messages" . 3. Lookafter present guests in the country with extra attention and they will become ambassadors to encourage future travellers.4. See the possibility to request banks as a group or association to reschedule loan facilities.5. Start energy saving training programmes and implement new energy saving activities, 6. It was a great loss but lets motivate our hotel and tourism industry employees and investors to remain in the industry. 7. We can consider this time of the year as a very low off season. 8. Utilize time and concentrate on yearly maintenance activities. 9. Utilize available free time for staff and management training programmes. 10. Remember together we can achieve more. Treat all as human and respect all religions. Avoid extremists in any religion. Any business there are ups and down situations in product life cycle. Keep good eye on suspicious people and items and be vigilant. We would have been in a comfort zone. Any city or Country in the World cannot guarantee safety and security. Natural disaster or Terrorists can damage buildings but not our Sri Lankan Hospitality ! ආයුබෝවන් !
