On March 5, we have the privilege of participating in the National Youth Multi-Sector Consultation hosted by the Federation of Liberian Youth (FLY) at the EU Headquarters in Monrovia.
The consultation brought together young leaders and organizations from across Liberia to contribute ideas and recommendations toward the development of FLY’s 2026 Operational Plan under the “Up to Us” workplan.
The session created an important space for youth-led organizations and ecosystem actors to share insights, align priorities, and co-create practical solutions for youth development.
As an organization working at the intersection of climate action, circular economy, and renewable energy, Ignite Ecogear contributed recommendations focused on strengthening youth engagement and leadership in Liberia’s climate sector.
Our key recommendations included:
• Supporting the implementation of Liberia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) through youth-led climate initiatives
• Strengthening youth participation and representation at local, national, and international platforms such as COP and other global climate discussions
• Establishing climate finance opportunities to support youth-led climate projects and innovation
• Expanding climate education and awareness, including integrating climate change topics into youth learning and training programs
• Promoting the transition from a linear economy to a circular economy, through recycling, waste management, smart agriculture, and sustainable production
• Creating green jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for youth, women, and persons with disabilities
• Encouraging climate innovation and renewable energy solutions that can power communities and support sustainable livelihoods
We strongly believe that empowering youth, women, and people with disabilities to lead climate solutions is essential to building a resilient and sustainable Liberia.
Ignite Ecogear remains committed to advancing youth-driven climate action, green entrepreneurship, and sustainable innovation across communities.
