Strategic Partnership with the Government of Liberia: Strengthening Institutions for Gender Equality

On February 6, 2025,The Consultancy and Research Hub (CARes-Hub), in partnership with Enterprise Impacts Growth (EIG), achieved a major milestone by signing a contract with the Ministry of Gender, Children, and Social Protection (MoGCSP) to conduct a Capacity Needs Assessment (CNA) under the World Bank-financed Liberia Women Empowerment Project (LWEP). This partnership reflects our continued commitment to strengthening institutions and advancing gender equality in Liberia.

Empowering Institutions for Sustainable Impact

This CNA is a key component of LWEP’s $44.6 million initiative, aimed at enhancing institutional capacity to promote gender equality and sustainable development. Over the next four months, our team will work closely with MoGCSP to assess:

βœ” Institutional arrangements and operational efficiency
βœ” Staff skills, performance, and training needs
βœ” Human resource management, procurement, and logistics
βœ” Financial management and sustainability strategies
βœ” Monitoring & Evaluation frameworks for data-driven decision-making
βœ” Policy development and implementation gaps

A Roadmap for the Future

The CNA will inform the development of a three-year Strategic Plan and Capacity Building Plan (CBP) to guide MoGCSP in optimizing resources, improving institutional efficiency, and driving sustainable gender-focused policies. This initiative is not just about assessmentβ€”it is about building resilience, fostering accountability, and strengthening public institutions to serve Liberian women and children more effectively.

A Commitment to Change

At CARes-Hub, we believe in evidence-based decision-making and collaborative solutions. This partnership with MoGCSP and EIG underscores our expertise in research, policy development, and institutional strengtheningβ€”ensuring that gender-focused initiatives in Liberia have a lasting and transformative impact.

We look forward to contributing to this critical national effort and reaffirm our dedication to empowering women, strengthening governance, and fostering sustainable development.

Stay tuned for updates as we embark on this journey of transformation!

On July 15, 2024, the Consultancy and Research Hub (CARes-Hub) organized an impactful two-day training workshop with the primary focus on honing the skills of its research assistants in conducting Key Informant Interviews (KII). This workshop played a pivotal role in the preparatory phase for assessing the impact of the Talking Drum Studio/Population Media Center (TDS/PMC) Radio Serial Drama (RSD) show, Barnusietehdeh: Let’s Do The Right Thing, on its audience in Montserrado County, Liberia.

The workshop equipped the field teams with invaluable insights into effectively gathering and analyzing perspectives from key informants. This effort culminated in the successful completion of twenty-five interviews with regular listeners of the show. These interviews provided profound insights into how the show’s compelling narratives and characters have influenced the lives and future perspectives of its audience.

Barnusietehdeh continues to captivate and engage Liberians nationwide by addressing crucial social issues, and its impact reverberates through every broadcast, resonating deeply within communities.

Title: Empowering Young Liberians through Data-Driven Insights.

On Friday July 12, 2024, the Consultancy and Research Hub (CARes-Hub) begun a three days dynamic training calibration session for our dedicated enumerators and field teams. The training was a crucial step in our mission to assess the impact of Welthungerhilfe’s (WHH) Village Savings and Loan Associations (VSLA) support across seven counties in Liberia.

The evaluation aimed to gauge the effectiveness of the VSLA intervention in enhancing food security and economic resilience within targeted communities.

The VSLA initiative is a key pillar of WHH’s strategy to drive economic empowerment and bolster food security in Liberia. Over the last six years, WHH has partnered with 400 VSLA groups in the counties of Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Rivercess, Sinoe, and Grand Kru, with significant progress already evident.
