SUMMARY JOB PURPOSE
To effectively manage and oversee the implementation of the public relations function of the LHDA and to maintain a positive public image both locally, regionally, and abroad

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism/Mass Communications/ Public Relations or equivalent. A Postgraduate Degree in Journalism/Mass Communications/ Public Relations or equivalent will be an added
advantage.

Minimum Experience:
Ten (10) years of relevant professional experience in a similar/large organization, five (5) of which should be at managerial level.
Demonstrated experience in the areas of journalism and public relations administration in larger organisations is essential

Community Engagement Assistant Officers

Location: 10 districts of the country – 3 in each district

Job Summary

Reports to:

Under the guidance, support and supervision of the PITCO, the Senior Professional counselor will be responsible provide quality HIV testing and adherence services for adults, children and adolescents to ensure treatment continuity (retention in Care) to all newly diagnosed clients on ART. She/he will support and provide enhanced adherence counselling for those with High viral loads. She /he will champion index testing elicitation, testing of contacts in collaboration with other community or consortium partners. Ensure that the facility registers including the e-register used to capture HTS activities is well updated, complete and correctly filled and timely. The Senior Professional counselor will provide DSD support to selected sites without lay or professional counsellors and supervise cluster of facilities in liaison with the district team and site level staff.

Roles And Responsibilities
-He/ She will have the responsibility to collaborate with Village Health Workers to plan for targeted community public gatherings in villages, schools, churches, councils, taxi ranks, hotels, market, factories and facilities.
-He/ She will hold awareness and campaigns in schools, gathering in villages, council, facilities in collaboration with Village Health Workers (VHW).
-He/ She will provide door to door COVID 19 vaccination education and public gatherings.
-The influencer shall prepare weekly and monthly reports and share with district demand creation officer.
-The influencer shall also plan public gatherings for the coming week with relevant VHWs, chiefs or counsellors and jointly determine the villages, schools or councils to be visited .

Required Qualifications And Experience
-COSC or LGCE with experience in community engagement
-At least two-year experience in community health related work
-Excellent knowledge of local language -Sesotho (Influencers for Quthing should also be fluent in Sephuthi)

Skills Knowledge And Abilities
-Prior experience in health-related work
-Comfortable working with local community and VHWs.
-Must be from the respective district
-Be influential or active in their respective community.
-Must be willing to travel around the district to reach all sectors of society
