The FTC announced on Oct. 8 that Gildan and S&S Activewear changed a contract clause that had kept Gildan from offering S&S's pricing and discounts to S&S's competitors. With the change, Gildan is free to set prices for other North American distributors, and the FTC closed its investigation. Nothing in the announcement lowers a price on its own, but it matters to every shop buying Gildan, Comfort Colors, or American Apparel blanks by the case.
