The Retro Sunburst finish is applied by airbrush, sealed and stitched with heavy guage thread for years of rugged use. The mesh backing allows for comfort in various conditions. Premium oil-tanned leather goods and finished leather garments are U.S.-bound! Khalid and his men will drive a 6.5 hour round trip to Casablanca to deliver the goods to the shipper, who will place them in their final packaging for a 2-week float across the Atlantic Ocean, arriving on the East Coast.

On the U.S. side, preparations have been made for the hides to be transported to the inspection and intake facility in Wichita, Kansas... the center of the country. This location is strategic, in that we can ship out to the lower 48 states via several shipping methods and distribute to our partnering warehouse.
We have begun the process of negotiating with several industries, automotive and aircraft manufacturers, commercial furniture builders, and the crafting community.

Once the inventory has been brought in, inspected, and is ready for sale, we will be offering some introductory prices to help get this leather in the hands of crafters and builders and tailors all across the country. We are very confident in the reception, and look forward to seeing what everyone builds with fine Moroccan Leather 🙂

The refinement of the processing of leather of over 10 generations in some families has produced one of the finest leather hide markets and softening processes in the world. There are lots of exciting things happening this week with FLC preparing a shipment to depart next week headed for America. The men at the Tannery, under the management of Khalid Errajafallah, our import partner, have been working extra hours and weekend days to get these goods ready to be introduced to the Americas. Much appreciated, gentlemen.
On the other side of the ocean, we have begun talks with now 4 major warehousing operations, some manufacturing operations, and nearly 20 shops who are eagerly anticipating their samples. We appreciate your patience, as a venture like this has a lot of moving parts. One of those is the Moroccan officials. Apparently, they can be difficult to deal with.
Another exciting prospect is using Moroccan tailors to make some of their exotic leather jackets, vests, and other goods. I will have some samples of these as well in this shipment. We are very excited to see them in person.
We will post updates as the cargo crosses the Atlantic, lands, and begins to be distributed around the Western Hemisphere. Stay tuned!

Hide selection is something Fez Leather takes very seriously. Our brand is built on nothing less than top quality hides. Khalid is a master of the process as a 3rd generation producer. His family's reputation and production system is so big that out of 70+ producers that use the Chouara Tannery Cooperative, his family rents roughly half of the facility, while the other 70 split the other half. They are the SHOW in Morocco. They are good to their workers and will be instituting a profit sharing bonus system; this is at the heart of my team's success at Unique Upholstery. When you invest in your men and their families...it puts wind in their sales and they are happier. Production goes up. They are paid per hide, but are very thorough with the processing. Quality is item #1. Once you have some in your hands, you will see 😊
