ADVISORY (28 June 2021)

informs the Filipino Community in Myanmar that the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) reported the detection of a total of 1,225 new COVID-19 cases from 2000H (27 June 2021) to 2000H (28 June 2021) with a positivity rate of 18.6%. This is the highest positivity rate in Myanmar since 01 October 2020.

There are currently 15,373 detected active COVID-19 cases in Myanmar. The true number of cases may be higher because the COVID-19 situation is not adequately monitored due to low testing capacity.

In this regard, strongly reminds Filipinos to continuously adhere to COVID-19 precautionary measure like strict physical distancing, wearing of face masks, and frequent washing or disinfection of hands. further advice Filipinos to limit, if not completely avoid, going out of their residences except when absolutely necessary such as going to work or buying groceries and supplies. Filipinos are also advised to maintain 14 days’ worth of food and supplies in case a lock down is imposed.
