Scope of position

Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems and/or sub-systems, in conjunction with a mechanical fitter’s tasks. The technician will work in workshop, onsite, at heights, in confirmed spaces, onboard or offshore as delegated.

Essential duties

1. Performing routine maintenance and testing activities
2. Proficient in the use of testing equipment, hand tools and specialized equipment/machinery
3. Diagnose and repair mechanical systems
4. Ability to overhaul general mechanical equipment including but not limited to – pumps, valves, seals, and couplings
5. Experience in using general mechanical equipment including but not limited to – lathe, milling, pillar drill, and press
6. Person must be trained, experienced, and certified on port handling/marine and industrial equipment
7. Perform other tasks as assigned to him by superiors

Minimum requirements

1. Mechanical Technician Diploma – EQF Level 4
2. Minimum of 3yrs Experience in the above role
3. Fulfils Jobs Plus Mechanical Technician Trade Test requirements
4. Good English Communication Skills
5. Good Teamwork Capabilities
6. Ability to follow direct orders
7. Ability to work at Heights
8. Ability to interpret drawings/manuals
9. Valid driving license will be considered an asset
