But many of them started with nothing, and through hard work, talent, grit, and a bit of luck, managed to rise to the very top. Mr Charitar inherited the business in 1975 from his late father after having worked as a helper in his teenage days. He started as a sole trader and with only a few screwdrivers in stock. Forty years later and at the brink of a well deserved retirement, Mr Charitar has tu

rned the few screwdrivers into one of the largest stores in the island. Quincaillerie Ste Helene has been at the source of no fewer than hundreds of construction projects throughout the island and hopes to serve the population for many more years to come. In 2016, Quincaillerie Ste Helene has evolved into a new company operating under the trade name of New Quincaillerie Ste Helene owned and controlled by none other than Mr Charitar's son, Ashwin.
