When artificial intelligence moves from theory to real-world impact, businesses transform. ๐Ÿš€

The Currimjee Group applauds Screenage Limited for a hands-on workshop exploring AI-powered networking in collaboration with HPE Aruba. ๐Ÿค Delivering excellence as part of the Group for 15 years, Screenage continues to lead the charge in technological innovation across Mauritius. ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ

The recent session brilliantly showcased the shift toward "agentic AI." As highlighted by its General Manager Rouben Soobrayen, HPE Aruba Central is actively redefining network management through AI-driven insights, automation, and proactive decision-making. ๐Ÿ’ก

The value of this technology is undeniable. For CTOs and business leaders, the transition from reactive to predictive operations delivers immediate operational relief. Seeing these intelligent systems in action created a genuine "wow effect" for attendees, sparking excitement for upcoming tech projects and collaborations! โœจ

A well-deserved congratulations to the Screenage team on a successful session, paving the way for smarter and more resilient enterprise infrastructures. ๐Ÿ‘

Sometimes, the most valuable meetings are the ones where you simply pull up a chair, put everything on the table, and talk.

This past Thursday, marketing and communication professionals from across the Currimjee Group gathered at Le Nรฉnuphar for a new edition of our MarCom forum ๐Ÿ€ an open, interactive exchange built around shared challenges, common experiences, and a collective desire to move forward together.

We also welcomed fresh perspective from Doris Clark from one of our entities and agency - Creative Advertising Bureau. Doris walked us through how CAB's range of services [from targeted media buying to high-impact signage] can be leveraged across our different businesses.

We gave ourselves a final full hour at the drawing board to start charting that journey. To ask the questions that matter: Where do our paths cross? Where can we build bridges? How do we think and act as one Group, while honouring what makes each brand unique?

A special mention goes to Vincent Chowrimootoo, our Head of Customer Experience | Marketing from QBL, who voluntarily took to the board and mapped out our collective thoughts and ideas with clarity and generosity. That kind of spirit is exactly what this is about.

This is just the beginning. And we are building it together.

Sustainability is a journey, and World Environment Day is a moment that reminds us: the space between intention and impact is bridged only by action. ๐ŸŒ

For companies like Quality Beverages (QBL), that responsibility runs deep. The choices made in manufacturing, procurement, and packaging shape ecosystems, communities, and our world.

Today, the spotlight is on two concrete sustainability milestones from QBL that speak louder than words:

โšก Manufacturing Efficiency: QBL's new state-of-the-art PET-3 Line is a major step change. Launched in February 2026, it increases 0.5L production capacity from 7,500 to 18,000 bottles per hour all while reducing electricity consumption by 50%+ and securing significant water savings!

As highlighted by Leena Sauhye, Chief Manufacturing Officer: "This investment is very aligned with our sustainability goal and also with the overall company growth."

โ™ป๏ธ Closing the Loop on Plastic: Through a landmark partnership with CMT and Eco(Moris), the shrink wrap films used for QBL beverages are now collected, recycled, and reused as packaging again. No more waste just a resource, reused. ๐Ÿ”„ This reduces reliance on imported virgin plastic by up to 37% with full digital traceability right here in Mauritius!

As Managing Director Inigo De Prado puts it powerfully: "This is a new milestone in our sustainability journey and our commitment to ensuring plastic never becomes waste."

By producing more with less energy and turning waste into a reusable resource, QBL is proving that a greener future is built on concrete, innovative actions. ๐ŸŒฑ

Something big is taking shape along the Verdun Link Road and it's hard to miss.

The Distribution and Value Centres by Currimjee Real estate are rising in L'Avenir, Moka, with 15-metre-high prefabricated columns now standing tall, among the most significant engineering elements ever delivered by local construction team, General Construction. Beams and walls are in progress, built with the same precision and rigorous safety standards that have defined this project from day one.

At the heart of , this development introduces our Store, Work & Sell concept, a 15,280 mยฒ Distribution Centre and a 2,311 mยฒ Value Centre with showrooms and offices, designed to reshape how businesses operate, connect and grow.

But beyond the scale, this project is personal. Our CRE team recently gathered on-site because we believe the people building this vision should feel it firsthand and become the true brand ambassadors. ๐Ÿ’ช

L'Avenir is more than a landmark. It's a future-ready, sustainable hub for the long-term growth of the Mauritian business landscape.

At the Currimjee Foundation, we believe that lasting change is built on empowerment, not just assistance.

Established in 2009 to oversee the Group's CSR commitments, the Foundation focuses on long-term action across education, health, environment, and poverty alleviation. Over the years, our approach has evolved from traditional philanthropy toward authentic partnerships that build resilience, guided by four key pillars: Sustainability, Empowerment, Education, and Preservation to foster long-term, self-sustaining growth.

Our mission is reflected through a structured ecosystem of initiatives designed to empower individuals at every stage of life:

๐Ÿ›‘The โ€œNo to Drugโ€ Programme: Starting Early Now in its 5th year with NGO DRIP, we are doubling down on early prevention. Following a new MoU signed on 16 April 2026, we are deploying two projects from May to August 2026 in Petite Riviรจre Noire and Rรฉsidence Anoska. Reaching nearly 100 children (ages 5-11), the programme includes 15 interactive workshops per site, combining psychosocial support, sports, and pedagogical outings to build strong landmarks for our youth.

๐ŸŒฑ โ€œEmpowering Mindsโ€: Through this programme, the Currimjee Foundation currently supports nearly 80 young people from NGOs Future Hope and Teen Hope on a life skills and sexual health education journey facilitated by Lesprikonsian, featuring 10 interactive workshops covering over 20 themes โ€” including consent, digital literacy, emotional wellbeing, addictions, and identity. Crucially, we also hold sessions for parents and educational teams, ensuring the entire support system is equipped to guide our adolescents.

๐Ÿช Food Solidarity and Security in Rose Belle: The Foundation supports "Baz Manz N Kou", a solidarity shop led by Atelier Sa Nou Vise (ASNV), which improves access to essential food and household products for vulnerable families in Citรฉ Bethleem. It operates on a reinvestment model. Revenue generated is cycled back into the shop, building long-term sustainability and reinforcing local food security.

โœจThrough the Currimjee Foundation, we remain fully committed to creating measurable, sustainable, and human-centred impact for Mauritius.

๐Ÿš€ Empowering Mauritian Entrepreneurs with blink by Emtel!

blink by Emtel, an award-winning FinTech platform and subsidiary of Emtel, a Currimjee company, continues to power the future of in Mauritius and is leading the way in driving digital transformation for our local Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡บ.

They recently hosted the first blink Connect, a dedicated merchant engagement event designed around a single purpose: equipping blink merchants with the tools, knowledge, and partnerships they need to grow their businesses in an increasingly digital economy.

๐Ÿ’ก Atul Bhatia, Chief FinTech Officer of blink by Emtel, highlighted the importance of "sovereign" payment platforms like . By choosing local mobile payments over traditional card payments, we keep transaction fees circulating within the Mauritian economy, making it more cost-efficient for everyone. He also demonstrated our dynamic QR systems, which link directly to your point of sale to ensure "zero risk and zero error" during every transaction!

How the blink ecosystem supports merchants' growth:
โœ… Smart Payments: Integrated dynamic QR systems for error-free sales.
โœ… Reliable 5G: allows online connectivity anywhereโ€”from a fixed shop to a market stall or even a catamaran!
โœ… Access to Capital: Fast preferential interest rates and collateral-free lending through partnership with .
โœ… All-in-One Management: Sales, inventory, and MRA-compliant invoicing in one platform with .

As Marcelo Aleman, CEO of Emtel, shared on his closing note: "The more you grow, the better we do, and weโ€™d like to be your partners" .

At the recent Gender Inclusive Leadership conference hosted by MA Partners Ltd, panelists explored what real progress looks like.

When asked what success would mean in five years, Dhiren Ponnusamy, Managing Director Designate of Currimjee Group, replied - โ€œThat we will not be debating about it anymore.โ€

A simple answer and a powerful challenge!

The panel reminded us that good intentions arenโ€™t enough. We must tackle unconscious bias, move from statements to sustained actions, and distinguish between supporting and sponsoring female talent. Support builds platforms and policies.

Sponsorship actively advocates for women, gives them visibility, opens doors, and backs them into leadership conversations.

That requires redesigning systems so leadership pathways stay open regardless of life choices, deliberately widening the talent pipeline, and ensuring women sit at the recruitment and succession table.

This mindset has been embraced by the Group since 2015, with the setting up of an HR committee at Board level, and since 2024, our Group Chief Human Resource Officer - a woman - was appointed as an Executive Director on the holding board, sending a strong signal about advocacy and people strategy.

Leadership is not built in a day. It is shaped through learning, reflection, collaboration, and growth alongside others.โœจ

Monday 18 May marked the launch of the second edition of the Management Development Programme (MDP), bringing together 15 high-potential managers from across the Group for a six-month leadership journey.

Through six dedicated modules, participants will explore themes such as leading self, leading others, leading change, innovation, and growth, while working on projects linked to real business priorities.

Facilitated by Rougen Naidoo, Managing Director of Siya-Saran Learning Design, the programme builds on the success of the 2024 MDP and the Transitional Leadership workshops held earlier this year.

In their opening remarks, Vanesha Pareemamun, Chief Human Resource Officer, and Iqbal Oozeer, Managing Director of the Group, highlighted the importance of collaboration, shared values, and collective impact in shaping the future of the organisation.

Beyond leadership development, the MDP aims to strengthen collaboration across entities, reinforce accountability, and build a sustainable leadership pipeline for the future. ๐ŸŒฑ
