Sales thrives on confidence, not pressure. The moment desperation enters the conversation, customers sense it and instinctively retreat. But when you show up calm, assured, and clear about the value you bring, people listen. Confidence isn’t about being loud or forceful; it’s about knowing your solution works and communicating that truth with certainty.

People don’t buy products first, they buy trust. Before a customer commits to what you’re offering, they’re assessing you. Your tone, your energy, and your consistency silently answer one question: Can I trust this person? When trust is established, the sale becomes a natural outcome, not a struggle.

Selling is not about convincing or chasing. It’s about transferring belief your belief in the problem you solve and the results you deliver. When you carry yourself with confidence and integrity, you don’t just close deals. You build credibility, create strong impressions, and open doors to long-term opportunities.

Marketing is not just about posting every day. It’s about being understood.

Many businesses fail not because their product is bad, but because people don’t clearly understand:
☑️What you offer
☑️Who it is for
☑️Why it matters

Good marketing starts with clarity before creativity.

You must clearly define:
☑️Your target customer
☑️The problem they are facing
☑️The solution you provide
☑️The result they should expect

Marketing is simply communication. If your message is confusing, your sales will be slow.

Build your message.
Repeat it.
Improve it.

That’s how brands are built.

A sharp salesperson doesn’t rush the deal. They understand that sales is not about speed, but about strategy. They take time to listen, ask the right questions, and clearly understand the client’s needs before offering a solution. By controlling the process, they create confidence not pressure and position themselves as a trusted advisor rather than just a seller.

Rushed sales may bring quick, short-term wins, but they often damage relationships and limit repeat business. Smart salespeople focus on trust, value, and long-term relationships. That’s how sustainable growth is built, referrals are earned, and businesses scale with credibility.

Education is not just about acquiring qualifications; it is about being practical, bold, and willing to learn through real experience. That is why many successful business owners do not have a string of formal degrees behind their names. They do not overthink opportunities or wait for the perfect theory before taking action.

They step into business with courage, make mistakes, learn fast, and perfect their craft as they go. Meanwhile, those with formal education often analyse opportunities until they talk themselves out of them. In business, progress favours doers, not overthinkers. Sometimes the best classroom is the marketplace, and the best teacher is experience itself.

I Want to Start a Business, But I Don’t Know What to Sell

You’re not alone. Many people want to start a business but get stuck on what exactly to sell. The good news is, the answer is probably right in front of you.

Start by asking yourself:

What problems do people often ask me for help with?

What skills or knowledge do I have that others need?

What gaps do I see in the market?

Your business idea is likely already around you. Pay attention, connect the dots, and you’ll find something worth selling.

Keep winning

I’m pretty sure that many of us have heard someone say, “Give a man a fish, and he’ll eat for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he’ll eat for a lifetime.”

But the harsh truth is this: the “teach someone to fish” concept is largely outdated these days. People know how to fish; they’re begging to fish. But the people who own the seas won’t let them get close to the water.

So, if you have access to fish, share your fish. Give people fish.

But on the other hand, we must recognise that not everyone has the ability to learn how to fish. Some people might drown when they try, and others might get lost at sea. Some may not even know how to use a fishing hook or may simply find it too difficult to learn. For these individuals, we must extend our compassion and offer them fish directly. They need our support because they lack the capacity or skills to fish on their own, and our kindness can make a significant difference in their lives.

If you are lucky enough to find someone who teaches you how to fish, never go close to their pond. Learn the skill, build your own pond, and never bite the hand that taught you how to fish.

When you’re in sales, behave like a doctor don’t rush to prescribe before you diagnose! Ask quality questions, understand the customer’s pains, and listen like you’re getting paid for it. Too many salespeople act like street prophets, shouting solutions before hearing the problem . Calm down, Doc take notes, feel the pain, then offer the cure.

It has been said many times, but it deserves to be said again: never be ashamed of the work that puts food on your table. Those you try to impress won't feed you when you're hungry. That is why a "small" salary is still better than begging, waiting, and hoping for someone to give you free money.

Many young professionals, especially Gen Z and millennials, feel stuck because they haven’t found the perfect job or dream career yet. They’ve been told to chase passion, not paychecks. And while that sounds inspiring, it’s not always realistic when bills are due and family is relying on you to survive.

Sometimes, it’s not about passion. It’s about survival. It’s about gaining experience, building skills, and ensuring financial stability first, so that later, you have the freedom to chase bigger goals.

You don’t have to love what you do right now. But you do have to do what’s necessary. And as long as you keep moving forward, the bigger opportunities [the ones that align with your passion] will come.

All that matters is that you know and understand the value of your work and you’re proud of the effort you put in, regardless of the job's status or perception. Because, at the end of the day, people will always talk, but they will never pay your bills.

I'm sorry if this comes off as harsh, but there is no magic formula to success. Yes, hard work, dedication, perseverance, and resilience will lead you in the right direction. But what most successful people fail to admit is that luck plays a part in being successful.

I'm honest enough to admit that I was fortunate enough to be put in good situations to succeed. I was given a great deal of help by others. I was fortunate to be in certain situations where the cards fell in my favour. Put simply, I was lucky.

But luck doesn't come to the unprepared. Luck doesn’t just happen; it’s created. You can do things to increase the odds of your luck. Meeting more people makes you lucky. Learning more skills makes you lucky. Being willing to fail makes you lucky. Offering to help others more often makes you lucky.

At the end of the day, success is a game of probabilities. As long as you have the humility to reevaluate your positions, the courage to rebuild who you are, the audacity to bet on the wildest outcomes, and the patience to stay the course, it's inevitable that success and good things will happen to you. Why? It is simple: success favours those who play the long game with discipline, adaptability, persistence, and boldness.

You must understand that luck is more likely to show up at your doorstep once you've done something difficult, networked like crazy, and improved yourself daily. Take it from me. Nothing makes you luckier than putting yourself in a position to receive it.

How To Make Marketing Work For You

Marketing is not magic it’s clarity and consistency. If people do not understand what you do, they can’t buy from you. If they don’t see you often enough, they forget you exist.

✅ Know who you are talking to.
Don’t try to talk to everyone. Be specific. Who is your ideal customer? What do they value? Where do they spend time? The clearer your picture of them, the easier it becomes to create messages that feel personal and relevant.

✅ Speak to their problem, not your product.
Customers care about their lives, not your features. The shift is simple: less about you, more about them.

✅ Show up often people trust what they see repeatedly.
Trust is built through familiarity. If you disappear for weeks, people forget you. Consistent, helpful posts, conversations, and follow-ups create the feeling that your brand is steady, reliable, and worth a try.

Do this over time, and marketing starts to feel less like shouting into the void and more like guiding the right people to a solution they’re already looking for.
