Mzuzu University (MZUNI) SACCO reaffirmed its commitment to promoting health, wellness, and community unity after sponsoring the Mzuzu University Mega Joint Staff Sports Day held on Friday, the 7th of August, 2026, at campus's Thengere Ground.

Guided by the theme 'United in Service, Champions in Wellness', the event brought together staff from MZUNI and various public institutions including the Malawi Police Service, Department of Immigration, Road Traffic and Safety Agency, Malawi Prison Service, and Moyale Barracks - Malawi Defence Force.

Speaking on the sidelines of the event, MZUNI SACCO Chief Executive Officer Catherine Munthali stated that the sponsorship formed part of the SACCO’s Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives and commitment to give back to its members and the wider community. "This sponsorship symbolizes that we care about the wellness of our clients and community. As MZUNI SACCO, we believe that a healthy and united community is key to productivity," she said.

Echoing her sentiments, MZUNI Sports Director, Felix Kaliwo commended the SACCO for its timely backing, noting that such partnerships are vital for promoting active and healthy lifestyles among staff members.

MZUNI SACCO utilized the lively platform to exhibit its core products and services, highlighting the newly introduced 'Education Loan' designed to cushion self-sponsored students against recent fees hike.
