Did you know: many dogs are actually allergic to animal flesh?
That’s to say, before people had ever heard of vegans feeding their dogs a healthful and nutritionally adequate plant-based diet, people all over the world have been feeding their 4-legged friends the same diet without any public backlash, or any issue to the dog themselves.
It’s only when a vegan tells someone that they feed their dog the same diet that there is any backlash and hatred from the public.
Many people are confused into thinking dogs are carnivores because they are part of the ‘order carnivora’. But dogs, as well as many animals in the order carnivora (e.g. bears, red pandas, foxes, badgers, and raccoons), are actually omnivores, and their digestive systems are perfectly adapted to digesting plant matter and acquiring nutrients.
It’s important that as a society we eliminate the ignorance and hatred surrounding vegan dog guardians who rightfully feed their companion animal an ethical, cruelty-free and healthful plant-based diet.
