We had an amazing time showcasing UzmaSAT-1 and demonstrating the role of satellite intelligence at MARA OISCA International Business Forum 2026 (MOIBF 2026), taking place in Langkawi from 10-12 February 2026.

During the forum, we were proud to announce the exchange of a strategic Letter of Intent (LOI) between Uzma@Geospatial AI and Kouyo Daiichi Consultants Co. Ltd., Japan, marking an important milestone in strengthening geospatial and satellite-based collaboration between Malaysia and Japan. This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing innovation, fostering knowledge exchange, and creating meaningful impact through cross-border cooperation.

We thank for this opportunity to showcase our capabilities in this international forum, which brought together delegates from Japan, Uzbekistan, China, and other partner nations — coming together to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and shape the future of technology, food security, and SME/PKS development in Malaysia.

At Geospatial AI, we believe geospatial intelligence and AI are not just technologies — they are enablers of inclusive growth, smarter decision-making, and sustainable development for rural and regional economies.

In honor of the public holiday on 1 February 2026, Geospatial AI wishes everyone a Happy Federal Territory Day where Malaysians celebrate the unity and development of the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur, Labuan, and Putrajaya.

Today, we zoom in on the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, as it was proclaimed on 1 February 1974 and signed by Malaysia’s second Prime Minister, Abdul Razak Hussein, following the signing of the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Agreement by the fifth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Abdul Halim of Kedah, on the same day. This ensured federal control of the capital by removing it from Selangor to avoid state–federal political conflicts.

From orbit, we see the unseen, the patterns of growth, movement, and transformation that define the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. The hustle and bustle of the city is no understatement, as Kuala Lumpur never sleeps, driven by continuous urban development, vibrant cultural activities, and late-night food spots embraced by locals.

Have you ever seen an airport with a scenic Caribbean view before?

We bring you to the Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM) in Sint Maarten. An airport where it is world-famous for its low-altitude landing approaching few meters above Maho Beach, which sits directly at the end of the 2300 meters runway between the Caribbean Sea and dense urban development.

From space, this satellite imagery reveals how the airport operates within these natural and urban boundaries. Earth observation helps monitor runway proximity to the coastline, aircraft approach paths, and near-shore marine traffic patterns, supporting aviation safety, coastal assessment, and maritime awareness.

A unique blend of geography, engineering, and space-based insight — proving that seeing from above helps us see better and see the bigger picture.

Building Malaysia’s space and geospatial talent pipeline starts with exposure, curiosity, and real-world experience.

We were pleased to welcome students from Bachelor Teknologi Pertanian Pintar, Fakulti Pertanian, , for an industrial visit to Uzma.

The Geospatial AI team, Sharifah Najihah, Shu Chuen Woo & Arief Syazni Azhar, introduced students to how satellite technology and geospatial intelligence are applied in practice — from space systems to data analytics — through interactive discussions and real industry case studies.

We are proud to play our part in inspiring young minds to explore careers in space technology and data science, and to contribute to developing the talent that will shape Malaysia’s future in the space and geospatial frontier.

A year ago, we launched UzmaSAT-1 through Transporter 12, Falcon 9, SpaceX.

To commemorate the launch, we are visiting various locations through the 50cm resolution imagery, captured from 500km above Earth.

Our first stop: Gaya Island, Sabah, Malaysia. A vibrant hot spot for an oceanic view while simultaneously being well-known as the largest island in the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park. Located in Kota Kinabalu, Gaya Island has about 33.9 kilometers of coastal beauty where activities such as swimming, snorkeling, etc. are often seen. Home to the Floating Village (Kampung Gaya), a traditional settlement built on wooden stilts by the beach, this area is filled with human activity, maritime traffic, and sensitive marine ecosystems.

Beyond imagery, UzmaSAT-1 enables coastal and maritime situational awareness, port activity monitoring, urban observation, and environmental oversight. One year in orbit, UzmaSAT-1 continues to show how Earth observation enables persistent monitoring, informed decisions, and sustainable outcomes for governments, industries, and communities.

We were pleased to showcase UzmaSAT-1 and demonstrate the role of satellite intelligence at the Majlis Peluncuran Dasar Industri Pertahanan Negara (DIPN).

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, engaged with our team, and shared valuable perspectives on the evolving role of space-based intelligence in national security.

Our sincere appreciation to and for organizing DIPN and for creating a strategic platform that brings together government, industry players, and innovators in advancing the Dasar Industri Pertahanan Negara.

We look forward to meaningful collaborations ahead as we continue harnessing satellite technology to strengthen national defense and situational awareness capabilities.

One Year in Orbit. Measurable Impact on Earth. 🛰️

One year ago today, UzmaSAT-1 was successfully launched — marking a milestone with the deployment of an Earth Observation satellite supporting Malaysia’s growing use of space-based data.

Since then, its value has been demonstrated not in announcements, but in application.

Over the past year, data from UzmaSAT-1 has supported real-world use cases — from flood monitoring and mitigation efforts, to intelligence and situational awareness, to helping plantations improve land management and strengthen compliance with regulations such as EUDR.

Operating quietly from orbit, UzmaSAT-1 illustrates how satellite data, when translated into actionable insight, can support decision-making across sectors that matter to the country and the economy.

Today, we mark one year not just of operation, but of contribution — and we continue building forward, with focus on value, reliability, and impact.

Happy 1st anniversary, UzmaSAT-1 🎊
