When I introduce / educate parents on the concept of reinforcement, sometimes I do get mixed thoughts and opinions to which are valid.

Reinforcement (or reward) may not be something that we are familiar with, but it shows up a lot in our daily life. Think of “I do this in order to get this”, so the latter is usually the reinforcement.

To increase motivation to learn, to do something, to execute, to apply, we need reinforcement—doesn’t matter in what shape or form it may be.

So, when we look at reinforcement especially in early learners (or the practice in early intervention), it shouldn’t be seen as a crutch.

Reinforcement is a bridge.

FAQs:

1️⃣Who runs the sessions?
All sessions are conducted by MJ (me).

2️⃣ Are you trained / what’s your experience?
I’m trained in Applied Behavior Analysis, have been practicing for 8 years, and currently receiving supervision from a Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA).

3️⃣ Where are the sessions held?
The sessions will be held at our therapy space located at Donggongon Square. Meanwhile home-based sessions will be conducted at your residence.

4️⃣ What programs do you do?
Programs are tailored following an initial assessment of skills, and may target on communication, play skills, daily living skills, and behaviour support.

We’re glad to finally share that we are expanding our service to providing early intervention ABA therapy service.

For parents who are concerned about your child’s communication, behaviours, or learning, we are here to support you.

We offer home-based sessions right to your doorstep, as well as sessions at STEP’s therapy space in Donggongon Square. Home-based sessions are limited to ensure high-quality, individualised support.
